(CNN)More than 150 years after the Civil War ended, the Confederacy is memorialized with statues, monuments and historical markers across the United States.
Some say they mark history and honor heritage. Others argue they are racist symbols of America's dark legacy of slavery. A nationwide debate surrounding this issue has been underway since Dylann Roof killed nine African-Americans in a Charleston, South Carolina, church in 2015 in an effort to "start a race war." And it flared up again after white nationalists marched last weekend to protest the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue in Charlottesville, Virginia, where a counterprotester was killed amid violent clashes between demonstrators.

How soon before they (BLM, Libs, etc.) demand that all Blacks named after those offensive historical figures [Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, etc.] have their names officially changed to something more PC?
And not just the living. They would want all records past and present updated to reflect the new selected names. Hollywood would be required to remaster [is ‘remaster’ racist?] all the episodes of The Jeffersons — George and Weezie.

Let’s demand that all museums remove all statues of Roman gods because of their glorification of people who systematically murdered Christians. Let’s start with the Metropolitan Museum in New York. And, of course, the Egyptian stuff has to go because of the enslavement of the Jewish people.
I think it’s about time for a national “Mail a Photo of Robert E. Lee to CNN” protest movement.
It is almost beyond belief that so much fuss is being made over bird shit collectors. That is in essence what these old statues are.

It’s so refreshing to see a man with common sense as president. We are not ISIS and we’re not the old Soviet Union. We don’t smash and tear down symbols of our history, good or bad. To hell with his haters, which is the liberal media and the worthless republicans that hate him. The people elected Donald J. Trump. A man of the people, who does not cower down to the politically-correct elites. He speaks common sense and that’s why if the election were held today he would win again. Amen.

The Civil War was about a lot more than just slavery. One side won, and one side lost.
The only possible purpose of rubbing that defeat in the losing side’s face 152 years later is to attempt to re-start that war. This could have adverse health consequences for those who are attempting it.
