Unlike Graham, Trump denounced both sides, correctly so. You can’t credibly denounce neo-nazi racial supremacists without the integrity to honestly denounce violence and hate from alt-left communists. Otherwise, it’s just sanctimonious virtue signalling, which is what Lindsey Graham does all the time.

I think the method is pretty straightforward. Tell the truth, say it clearly, and never back down. If I were advising Trump, I would tell him to use this opportunity to hammer home how inner city minorities are living in ‘war zones’ under Democrat mayors who solicit minority voters and then do nothing to help. He should hammer home the hypocrisy of the Democrat ‘socialists’ who create more disparity between the haves and the have nots everywhere they go (e.g. the beautiful skyline of Downtown Chicago vs the decaying neighborhoods and loss of the industry that provided employment for those neighborhoods). I would also point out that in Chicago, a 'sanctuary city', there is no sanctuary against violence and murder.

There is so much ammunition to use, and the Democrats have a very, very poor record. Attack it.
