The eugenics evil as spread by Charles Davenport went far and wide in America. It had great appeal to such people as Margaret Sanger. It also had great appeal to Hitler.

Eugenics had appeal to politicians in America when they adopted the eugenics ideology to apply to American Indians and Blacks. It gave support to segregation in the south as freed slaves impacted the job market of southerners. Laws were passed to prevent ex-slaves from taking jobs away from white men. Blacks were demonized as inferior humans and this thinking influenced Southern Democrats who were in the middle of a serious economic situation after the Civil War. Politicians had to have a scapegoat for the economic woes in the south.

Southern whites blamed the slaves for taking all the jobs and the money. So, I look at the segregation of the blacks in the south as a reaction to horrible economic times with ideologies such as eugenics giving justification.

“Southern whites blamed the slaves for taking all the jobs and the money.”

Think. While it was absolutely not the fault of slaves, the establishment of the antebellum South used slave labor to their benefit and that slave labor undercut the value of all labor, even that of free whites in the south. The evil of slavery brutalized the slave and diminished the value of the free.

It is no different today when the establishment imports illegal labor and indentured H1-B labor for their benefit while driving down the wages of Americans as well as burdening Americans with higher taxes to pay for the welfare payments subsidizing this modern slavery. I don’t hate illegal alien Mexicans but I have to admit to a white hot hatred towards the establishment that brutalizes both Americans and Mexicans.

The time is coming for choosing; fight to live free or to die a slow death of hopelessness, impoverishment, and subjugation. What will you choose?

And Winston Churchill.

You’re still laboring under the false impression that segregation was just a southern thing and that eugenics was just a southern thing. In that you’re quite mistaken. Perhaps it makes you feel better to put it all off on some “other” somewhere else, and to pretend that Republicans weren’t the progressive party in that era. Eugenics was regarded as progressive at that time, so as neat and tied up in a pretty little bow for Republicans outside of the south as your story is, it’s not at all reflective of what actually occurred.
