Why do leftists always insist on talking about their feelings? Nobody cares. Grow up, ‘journalists.’

It's the wholesale adoption of the female mentality. What do women do when the bigger, stronger men don't do what they want? They cry, and it triggers, in most men, a protective, conciliatory instinct. Now imagine a whole political movement built around that sort of mentality. What the males in that ideology don't realize, though, is that the whole crying "I'm a poor helpless victim" act, while effective when used by women, is seen as wholly pathetic when used by men...er...males. However, the constant usage of this by women on the Left does still hold some sway. That is why the Left knows they have to seduce and control the women first in order to get to the men.
