Independent Journal Review (IJR) collected a few unintentionally hilarious Twitter responses from journalists who reported being shaken by President Donald Trump’s aggressiveness in an extraordinary press conference Tuesday that was centered on questions about the weekend’s violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Vanity Fair reporter Gabriel Sherman was actually physically ill: “I am totally rattled by that presser. Chest tight, stomach queasy. Feel sick”:
Perhaps he should have his testosterone checked. It seems seriously depleted. But then, he does write for Vanity Fair.
Magazine editor David Lytle tweeted his empathy for Sherman: “I vomited on election night. Today, I bawled for 20 minutes. The stress and anxiety brought on by a threatening president is overwhelming”:
NBC’s Chuck Todd reportedly said on the air that the press conference gave him “the wrong kind of chills.”
“Honestly I’m a bit shaken by what I just heard, and I suspect it’s not just me,” he added.
Yahoo News editor Garance Franke-Ruta accused the President of “defending the nighttime white supremacist protest at UVA with torches”
CNN’s Brian Stelter echoed this concern, saying that “Trump risks sounding like a spokesman for the Unite the Right rally right now”
Trump claimed that “both sides” were to blame for the violence in Charlottesville, meaning the white supremacists and the “alt-left” radicals. That fair and balanced approach wasn’t what the left-leaning media wanted to hear.

That’s for sure. Five minutes of Don Lemon last night showed him in total meltdown along with Jim Acosta - Lemon’s eyes were rolled so far back in his head, you could barely see the whites. Not kidding! They were near or were hysterical. Acosta said it was just mind boggling that the president could say there was no difference between those two groups. He looked like he’d just gotten out of bed - his clothes weren’t pressed, his hair wasn’t “styled”...guess he was really suffering! I thought about feeling sorry for him but then decided - Nah - he’s too dumb to understand!
What on earth do those people drink or smoke? Even a university graduate (LOL) could tell there is a difference!
Our side is still in denial. I suspect he went with Hope Hicks for the simple reason that he realizes that the entire rest of the Republican Party is composed sniveling little quislings who would cower in a corner in the face of what Trump faced yesterday.

This is getting scary people. I’m so afraid America is becoming ungovernable. These people no longer recognize the usual methods of governing and law-making procedures of a republic. I’ve never witnessed anything remotely like this. Not that I’m that old though. This is a coup.
I fear for Mr. Trump’s safety. I am so afraid of turning on my computer or TV every day because I’m scared someone will have taken his life or tried to.
God alone can help us.
I watched the press conference on Brietbart Sundance video last night and indeed it was the press that was combative and insulting by screaming at Pres Trump to the point that I wondered how he was able to make out what any one of them was trying to say. Interesting that the one group had a permit for a gathering and was assaulted by another which appeared out of nowhere to interrupt them and the press is siding with the interlopers. We all know what is going on with this intent to start riots or any other type of disruption that can be turned into an anti Trump event. Last year it was BLM and Wall Street sit ins and disrupting Trump rallies. Little or big, these communist style assaults will continue as long as our legal forces, police etc, are held back from doing their duty to enforce law and order. Pres Trump handled the press better than any other president I have seen since Ronald Reagan. I pray for Pres Trump daily and I believe he will persevere in his efforts to save this Republic.
I think you make good points but I disagree. The media have basically painted a picture that a bunch of Nazi’s and Klan members showed up on Charlottesville, started beating up everyone they saw, and finished it by ramming a car into a crowd of innocent bystanders. As long as that story is allowed to stand, they will use it as a club against Trump from now until the end of time.
No, those kinds of lies have to be confronted and taken out by the roots. There was a group of people who had a legitimate political concern, a right to speak and a permit to do so. Everyone else in attendance from the probably fake Nazi’s and Klan members, to the local politicians, to law enforcement, to Antifa, all violated their basic civil rights to peaceably assemble and air their concerns.
Absent Trump as President, that side of the story would never see the light of day, and the media’s version would go down in the history books at they state it. But because we have Trump and Sessions, we have the chance to get the truth out, and the truth in this case has quite a bit of real world political impact.
The media was shrieking like a scalded dog in that presser. The best part was the guy who squealed, “Do you side with the Confederacy?!!” LOL Trump should have responded, “No, I’m not a Democrat.”

Most of these questions we’ve asked don’t have answers but yours do - the permit was granted to the group everyone wants to call the KKK or whatever. AND it’s reported that that permit was taken away from them for the spot they had the permit for. They were moved to another location which put them within feet of the “sweet kids who were there only to spread joy.”
As I understand it, the OPPOSITION (I refuse to use the popular term) didn’t have a permit. To all thinking/logical/sensible people, that group showed up to cause trouble...I can’t get any answers to the questions of WHAT and WHO started the rumble? As far as I can tell there weren’t any speeches to set people off like there were on the day of the inauguration with those loud mouth females....
Perhaps someone shouted “so’s your old man”... I sure don’t know and I don’t think anyone else does either.
Supposedly according to reports, the police were ordered to stay out of it. The news idiots were worried because VA is an open carry state and that really concerned them - LOL. Guess they were disappointed as it’s said that many were armed. So much for the evil committed by those openly carrying weapons!

NO! NO! NO! - the press wouldn’t shut up if he did that - they’d carry on worse than they already are - into the next century....We’ve heard quite enough from them. Trump did just fine yesterday and FINALLY someone let the rest of the country/world know that there were TWO SIDES to the story even tho’ CNN wants to present only one side. I posted about hearing Don Lemon and Jim Acosta last night and I forgot to say that they really said that - “can you believe he thinks there are two sides to the story?”
