We are now in the midst of yet another battle over real marriage versus fake marriage, and as is always the case, the other side seeks to make its case by copious amounts of falsehoods, misinformation, straw men and red herrings. It seems to simply make things up as it goes along.
It will toss out the most reckless of charges, the most baseless of accusations, and the most illogical of claims. I have dealt with them time and time again. Let me look at one common objection thrown our way by the militants as we seek to defend marriage from its total makeover and destruction.
We regularly make the argument that heterosexual marriage is fundamentally about the best interests of children. That is because every child has the basic human right of having his or her own biological mother and father, and to be raised by them.

I always try to keep some tracts with me when I go out. Never know who I will meet. I met a young black man several months ago; gave him a tract. I guess I was put in the right place at the right time because it really grabbed his attention. I wound up giving him 6 more. He told me he was passing them around and his family (and maybe some friends?) were reading them. That’s why I gave him so many more. I have never given that many to a single individual before. Usually it’s 2 or 3 at most.

THIS is what is wrong in America! The laws are not wrong! The Constitution is not wrong! We the People are NOT the same people of that time period and we may never be again!
At this point in time, I’m not sure we could come together as a country and win a WWIII! Not because we don’t have the skills and equipment, but because we don’t have the American pride, the American values, and the American morals of the Greatest Generation!!
Bill Muehlenberg makes some exceptionally good points here.
The issue isn’t Marriage “Equality”, it’s Marriage “Reality”. If the reality of marriage as a one-man, one-woman union oriented toward the begetting and raising of a family, and committed for life, isn’t recognized, it will be deconstructed to the point of total dismemberment.
Of course, I am not predicting this. I am describing it.
And homosexual “marriage” is not validated by, or made necessary by, the presence of children. At best, a gay “marriage” takes a child sired or conceived by its mom or dad in the normal way, and the deprives that child of either its father or its mother, deliberately and permanently.
Thus is not a social choice worth mainstreaming and supporting.
Increasingly, children are bring commoditized and produced for gay couples using non-intercourse reproductive technologies: artificial insemination, egg donors (actually vendors), IVF, and surrogacy, which is reproductive concubinage. These are even worse, because the child is basically bring treated as a lab product, a lifestyle accessory, or an extensive pet.
The (let’s face it) purchasers of this pet may speak about love, but how much love is being shown when their very first decision was to permanently deprive their child of his natural genetic parents and his entire constellation of natural kinship?
Then if the child of “gaydads” yearns to have a mom, or the lesbians’ kid wishes he had a dad, that deep natural yearning is trivialized, and the kid is expected to just get over it.
It is a sign that in this Brave New World, kids’ rights and profound needs are always trampled by adults’ preferences.

Arguing about marriage this way is good? Marriage is an institution from God.

That’s the argument for marriage, period. To argue any other way is an admission that because God says so is not sufficient.

Our fellow voters are not, many if them, Bible believers. For them, we argue for natural marriage on the basis of Natural Law.
Natural Law and Scriptural Law are both God’s Eternal Law, since they have the same Author.

Why limit this to just gays? The typical western woman has so few children that native born populations are in decline in all western countries as far as I know. Even here in America, the birth rate is 1.84 per woman. The replacement rate is 2.1. In other countries it’s much much worse. Italy, if I recall correctly, has a birth rate of 1.1.
The more educated the women are in a given society, the fewer babies they have. Countries such as Turkey and Iran even have low birth rates, compared to what they were a generation or two ago.
My point is that babies are thought of more as a burden than a blessing by an ever increasing percentage of the world.
Bear in mind this elementary truth: Sterility is the exception to the rule for heterosexual couples, while it is the norm for homosexual couples. A couple is not required to have babies when getting married, but it remains the generally expected norm.

Some people have rejected the truth that things have nature, and act according to their nature. It is the nature of intercourse to beget children. Damage, defect, disease, or malicious action may thwart that nature, but it is still in the nature of the act. It is in the nature of sodomy to NEVER beget children. A homosexual relationship is, by its nature contrary to the nature of marriage.
It is my humble opinion that America is over; we are definitely on the decline. Even if so-called “constitutional conservatives” were to get full, firm control of all the seats of government, we are still fatally compromised morally. Look at how conservatives already kowtow to any accusation leftists throw at them, even using the same leftist language as if it were legitimate.
Reason can follow from God’s ultimate plan. The two should not be in conflict. There is no flaw then in appealing to reason.

When is the last time you’ve read any article in a newspaper/magazine a defense a marriage from Genesis 2? The “reason” you mention is always in absence of God. People privately hold such beliefs, but then out in the real world go silent. Do you see otherwise?
Our traditions reside between instinct and reason.
No amount of reason from majority of nine social justice lawyers has the legitimate power to redefine a tradition recognize by all cultures since the beginning of recorded history.
Even God appeals to reason. It’s bizarre that you would belittle this God-given tool of the minds that He has made.
I don’t mind using reason. What bothers is people go silent about believing in God’s word and that it is sufficient for them. Regardless if it’s sufficient for others, it would be nice to see Christians show their belief in the word of God in the public square.
It's true that gays are not choosing "natural" sex, but then, the majority of married heterosexuals are not choosing "natural" sex either. Our society as a whole, whether "gay" or "straight", has turned away from natural fertile sex and, therefore, away from natural marriage.
A couple of years ago, some guy who was big in the Playboy Empire (Editor in chief? CEO? I can't remember what) wrote a book on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Playboy brand. His topic was a celebration of the Sexual Revolution./
He correctly opined that contraceptives are THE necessary paraphernalia of the Sexual Revolution.
Why? Here's where it gets interesting. NOT ONLY because contraceptives denature heterosexual intercourse so that those dreaded babies don't result, BUT ALSO because the contraceptive mentality legitimizes every kind of sexual perversion.
"Perversion" is not the word he used --he termed it something like "sexual preference". But "perversion" is, by definition, any kind of "preference" which in practice ditches the essentially procreative structure and meaning of intercourse.
By far the most numerous practitioners of denatured sex, and thus re-definers of marriage, are contracepting heterosexuals.
According to the childless heterosexual gambit homosexuals state, there might as well be ‘marriage’ between animals or lots of people.
Marriage is and always has been one man and one women.
Try to redefine it by twisting logic is never going to work. We’re no mentally retarded like the homosexuals are.
Yes, perversion is exactly the right term for sodomy and for contracepted intercourse. The perverts have turned it upside-down, warped it to the point that its meaning is lost.
