“Scientists called his remarks troubling”

Argumentum ad verecundiam.

Which scientists? This scientist finds them reassuring. I’m sure Pruitt can find a bunch more. In any case, none of that is science. Maybe these “scientists” might try arguing it.

Amen to that! If this leads to people finally standing up and promoting real science we might actually put a dent in this scourge.

Scientists called his remarks troubling, especially because the report — part of a broader, congressionally mandated National Climate Assessment — has already undergone “rigorous” peer-review by a 14-person committee at the National Academies.

If their facts stand up, they shouldn't have to worry about additional peer review. What are they afraid of?

Scott Pruitt and Mick Mulvaney have become my favorite agency Directors in the Trump Administration. Wish I could say the same about Jeff Sessions.

Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt said his staff will gauge the “accuracy” of a major federal science report that blames human activity for climate change — just days after researchers voiced their fears to The New York Times that the Trump administration would alter or suppress its findings.

Gauging the accuracy of the "science" report is actually straight forward.

Just identify the assumptions, data, and methodology used to blame human activity is the cause of climate change.

We will all benefit from knowledge of genuine science and the scientific method.

Before certification of said such report, demand:

Chain of custody documentation of every reading from the individual sensor to the modeler.

Chain of custody documentation of the credentials for every sensor reader.

Chain of custody documentation of The sensor calibration records for each and every sensor.

Chain of custody documentation of all modelers certifications.
