Dilauded is the mother of all painkillers.
I was given dilauded twice, when passing some kidney stones. The night began with the feeling I was being stabbed to death, and ended with me floating away to shangri-la on a cloud-bed of dilauded-infused unicorn dust
I got Toridol (sp?) for kidney stones.
Morphine never did anything for me pain-wise for stones.
My father-in-law was prescribed Dilaudid after he was diagnosed with throat cancer.
My wife was terrified every time she had to pick up a refill; she was afraid of being mugged because of its street value.
And I bet you were pleased to have it administered...I don’t think it’s given any longer in ER’s for severe migraine sufferers...It used to knock those out in a couple of hours and the victim was allowed to go home.

LOL!
With mine, I was absolutely sure a “cement block” would come flying out at some point landing on the toilet and shattering it into pieces.
At least that is what it felt like.
Sounds like what happened with my kidney infection. Dilauded is the only pain med that actually works for me. But you can’t give it as a full dose at once, half then wait a few minutes and other half. Head and heart rush hurt otherwise.
But I don’t go to La-La land with it. Just pain relief. Pills do nothing. Now that anti Puke med does send me to sleep. I can’t take a opioid with out Phenergan.
