The Canadian Government can just print or borrow money to give these immigrants the comforts they are accustomed to, until they can get around to confiscating those funds from the citizens through higher taxes.

About 25 years ago, I visited friends in Montreal.
They spoke of a Haitian refugee problem then. Apparently it was related to the fact that Haiti was a former French colony.
