This should come right out of the teachers union pension fund.
These people will police their own membership if they believe a bad apple will put their own pension at risk.
I don’t quite get what the $125K is for, or why that is described separately from the $1.Million total award.

Eventually, we will figure out why this is happening so much today. Is there something going on during the training process that dissolves the presumption of personal boundaries between teacher and student?

Reading the story it sounds like the boy was the one pursuing her, she of course should have killed it off but she didnt...

I dont see how its “rape”.. esp if he pursued her first... child abuse maybe... stupid def... but rape? rape to me means against ones will... he seemed perfectly willing to me...
This just seems wrong. The woman’s behavior was weak, stupid and a violation of her responsibilities as a teacher. But did this kid, who apparently pursued her, suffer a million bucks worth of pain? Does she deserve to go to prison AND be impoverished by this damages award? Very, very doubtful. There’s just not enough common sense in this world.
Kid gets awarded a million bucks for having sex with the woman he was pursuing. That’s some crazy government-approved prostitution.

Yes there are not boundaries between students and teachers. That seems to have dissolved.
Also, the whole sexual revolution is part of this, in my opinion. This teacher is young, and grew up in a culture in which it is considered ok to have sex with any number of partners, any gender of partners. Clearly she had no moral compass of any kind to dissuade her from an underage boy.
All these young teachers today grew up and came of age after the sexual revolution.
