Fleeing from the cops had nothing to do with it. Stay focused.

The vehicle was being attacked before it ever went into the crowd. Armed individuals immediately started attacking vehicle as soon as it came to a stop prior to going into reverse. At the point your seeing all this, the driver is likely thinking, "Ho*y s**t, if I stop, I'm dead"

Based on everything I've seen and reviewed, I'm pretty confident at this point that is what the Fields was thinking. He wasn't too concerned with the cops at that point, because all they'd done all day was stand off on the side lines looking professional. It's all in the videos....

Agree with your scene description. However the issue with a fleeing charge is whether the guy is trying to avoid being held responsible for his actions. If he gets to a safe place and contacts the authorities, it can’t be argued that’s why he left. If, on the other hand, he actively avoids being found, the case can be made that he fled to avoid prosecution, not for reasons of self preservation.

It also goes to the other charges, easier to credibly claim he panicked when the car was clubbed before the impact if he took the actions of an innocent man, went to a place of safety where there was no further reason for panic and called the cops.

That’s why I’m trying to find arrest details. I vaguely recall seeing something to the effect that he was in custody quickly, but can’t find details.
