Ted Cruz asks Justice Department to investigate Charlottesville crash as domestic terrorism
Washington Examiner ^ | August 12, 2017 | Kyle Feldscher

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz wants the Department of Justice to investigate Saturday's attack that killed one woman in Charlottesville, Va. as an incident of domestic terrorism.

In a statement released Saturday night, Cruz called the incident "tragic and heartbreaking" and said the Justice Department must be involved immediately.

"The Nazis, the KKK, and white supremacists are repulsive and evil, and all of us have a moral obligation to speak out against the lies, bigotry, anti-Semitism, and hatred that they propagate," Cruz said in a statement.

"Having watched the horrifying video of the car deliberately crashing into a crowd of protesters, I urge the Department of Justice to immediately investigate and prosecute this grotesque act domestic terrorism."

Y'all absolutely DISGUST ME !

The straight leap to "domestic terrorism," and even the Nazi stuff is uncalled for and is simply designed to appeal the CNN crowd. Cruz didn't know anything about the driver. He's lucky we didn't find out he was black.

So true. Cruz said he just forgot he was a Canadian citizen. I’ll tell you though....after the Chicago stunt where he tried to pin the riot on Trump I was finished with him.

You want to stand up for a murderer in case he isn’t also a terrorist? Not worth it.

I’m upset because fascist commies wearing black masks have been beating the crap out of Conservatives for over a year and Ted Cruz didn’t say a damn thing. He doesn’t give a damn about us.

However, the moment he see a chance to get some media head lines he’s all over protecting those same violent, fascist commies who were only run down because they blocking the street for fun.

And given the ugly and personal nature of your response to my reasonable criticism of Ted Cruz, I don’t think very highly of you.

Actually he’s on to something
Lets have the DOJ investigate this whole matter
Who was there from all organizations
Was there external funding of those groups right and left
How did the city handle permits
How did the city and local, law enfircement handle security
Why were people marching in a street that was open to traffic and with no poiice present ( videos show a very long time from crash to arrival of police)
Who was the perp- really
What agency apprehended him and how and why did those agents threaten and intimidate witnesses

Obviously they were all, ALL racist kkk. No way most of them could have been patriotic Americans protesting the removal of American history. Ya, that’s sarcasm. cruz jumped to the kkk label because he saw an opportunity he though politically advantages. Same with corry gardner. cruz has a history of pandering. that is the sign of a sleazeball.

Ah, Cruz again seeks to undermine Trump again but this time at America’s expense.

This whole affair needs to be treated as what it is in the grand scheme of things: as an isolated incident.

A woman died, I know, which is sad but this is not a national tragedy. It is not terrorism, just an idiot who lost his temper.

This man is not representative of the vast majority of Trump supporters, if indeed he is that, and those on the Right.

Cruz was among thise who played the KKK card against candidate Trump when the media tried to make it look like Trump was friends with David Duke

So was Paul Ryan

Then all cruz had to do was keep his mouth shut. cruz thinks he saw an opportunity to advance his career and hurt Trump at the same time, a double whammy. I believe he was very wrong. crus is a scummy politician, nothing more.

Yep, interesting, no one seems to know what this guy is all about. I haven’t seen any social media, no tweets, no texting, no friends saying he’s this or that...Maybe I missed it.

Before we ramp up a federal investigation, it might be a good idea to simply ask the idiot who was driving that car what he was trying to accomplish.

I'm sure that's been done. But the only way we will hear about it is if he reveals himself to be a frothing-at-the-mouth racist.

Any other explanation will be kept very, very quiet while the MSM, DNC, and BLM whip up a lynch mob which, if they can't physically get to the Dodge driver, will settle for any innocent white person who is unlucky enough to get in their way.

Meanwhile, black-on-black shootings in the inner cities continue unabated.

It would not surprise me if we found out that George Soros was funding both side3s of that demonstration.

Cruz said nothing about Trump or what Trump should do, so not an issue. But every smart politician is going to be ahead of this issue with a condemnation.

“A woman died, I know, which is sad but this is not a national tragedy. It is not terrorism, just an idiot who lost his temper.”

Did he lose his temper, or did he panic?

It looked to me like the attackers had done substantial damage to his car, and intended to Reginald Denny him.

As Jim Robinson himself has wrote many times, "Ted Cruz is a good man,"
This bias against him that Trump himself fed, should stop.
Trump is a politician that was 'taking out' his competition, and Trump has many thing he said against Cruz that he needs to apologize for.
But that's besides the point, that Ted Cruz was not necessarily being 'an opportunist', but simply responding to his constituents.
