Trump barrage stuns McConnell and his allies
The Hill ^ | August 12,2017 | BY ALEXANDER BOLTON

Sources close to McConnell say he is stunned by Trump's attacks, which have only increased in recent days, as an attack on a member of his own team.

Some in the Trump administration, however, think McConnell should have seen it coming.

A senior administration official expressed “100 percent agreement” with the president that McConnell has not done enough to advance his legislative agenda.

The source cited McConnell’s failure to pass healthcare reform and the record-slow pace in confirming his nominees to key executive branch positions.

Trump and his allies recognize he was elected to the White House despite the barrage of personal attacks from Hillary Clinton because voters want accomplishments that will change the status quo.

The administration delegated the repeal and replacement of ObamaCare to McConnell and Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and they’re not getting the job done.

“People think Mitch maybe has lost a step,” said the source.

While McConnell argues he worked hard and exhausted every option to pass ObamaCare repeal legislation, the source pointed out that senators just left town for a four-week break from Washington.

The complaint among Trump allies is that while McConnell vowed to “burn the midnight oil” to get things accomplished in the majority, that hasn’t happened in practice, said the source.

McConnell had deftly avoided confrontations with Trump during last year’s presidential campaign, but he stepped on a landmine Monday when he said Trump “had excessive expectations about how quickly things happen in the Democratic process.”

Scott Jennings, a former senior political adviser to the Kentucky lawmaker, said McConnell was merely offering a “dispassionate, emotionless” view of “the reality of Washington, which is things happen more slowly than we would like.”

McConnell deserves a barrage of rotten fruit wherever he goes.

An attack on Ditch is also a way to attack all of the other Senators and try to rally support from Americans to pressure the Senate to get off its duff.

They think are royalty. They can dish it out but they can’t take it.

They lie to our faces and expect us to ignore it.

McConnell said he would have an Obamacare repeal bill on Trumnp’s desk on his first day in office. Was he too dumb to know his own caucus or just bullshitting when he knew better?

It has to be one or the other.

The “barrage” was in reaction to Senator McConnell’s own criticism - he struck first, and got reacted to. If McConnell had kept his mouth shut this wouldn’t be happening.

The people are with Trump on this, giving him a lot more power than McConnell has.

It is fascinating to watch the interaction between these career politicians and Trump.

Slow witted, entrenched, risk averse meets kick your ass.

Mitch is surprised that people are getting upset that he’s an incompetent loser?

When has Mitch McConnell ever been in Trump’s “ team”?
When has he EVER defended Trump from the most ridiculous attacks by his unesteemed leftist colleagues?
McConnell is a post turtle
He ought to be managing a funeral parlor

an attack on a member of his own team

Here's where the RINO backstablishment has it wrong. It's not Trump attacking a member of his own team; it's the Coach of the team, having been undermined by Jimmy Chitwood from day one, going several games without the star in order to establish who is running the show, and who is just shooting hoops in his backyard. Hoosiers is a fine analogy for what is going on in the repub party -- except that the stakes are infinitely higher. Myth McConnell is the one who needs to fall into line, and bring the Senate along with him. If he can't do that, he should go find a hoop in his backyard and play with himself.

Mitch lacks the will to kick ass

The old babe from Maine her ass severely kicked
The babe from Alaska needs her ass severely kicked
John McCain needs to be kicked out

I was just going to say...wasn’t McConnell at some Rotary Meeting this past week, making excuse after excuse as to why he can’t get anything done?

From the L.A. Times, today:

“Our new president has of course not been in this line of work before,” he said at a Rotary club in Florence, Ky. “And I think had excessive expectations about how quickly things happen in the democratic process.” ~ Mitch McConnell

Um...’We The People’ GAVE you the House, the Senate AND the Presidency (R) to REPEAL that steaming pile called 0bamacare!

What a putz. Go, Trump! GO! :)

To quote something I hear at work.

“We are using the carrot and stick method of motivation. The carrots are on order.”

Trump was elected to fix the country and drain the swamp. He is getting no help from the GOP because for the most part, they are the swamp too. Their current actions show they are not about fixing things. They are only using problems as a campaign tool. I don’t think they ever expected that they would have to actually act on their promises.

The admonition to military pilots in training was “Straighten up and fly right!”, because failure to do so was almost sure to be termination by “self-induced elimination”. Either that, or you flew into the ground, which only proves Darwinism does work on some levels.

Or how about the fact that they slow walk his nominees then for good measure Vote to kill his ability to make any recess appointments UNANIMOUSLY. Then Mitch goes out and says Trump has unrealistic expectations all the while watching Mueller conduct a political assassination. In my view Trump has been way too soft. I just don’t know how much choice Trump has. If he goes full out against these bastards he can forget anything getting done and they might sending up veto proof BS legislation with the Rats. What a mess. I just loath these people.
