N. Korea 'on standby to launch,' state-run paper says in response to Trump's latest warnings

North Korea took its turn Saturday in the country’s escalating, back-and-fourth with President Trump with the state-run newspaper saying leader Kim Jung Un’s revolutionary army is “capable of fighting any war the U.S. wants.”

The assertion was made in an editorial that also states the Paektusan army is now “on the standby to launch fire into its mainland, waiting for an order of final attack."

The editorial in North Korea on Saturday also said the U.S. "finds itself in an ever worsening dilemma, being thrown into the grip of extreme security unrest by the DPRK. This is tragicomedy of its own making. … If the Trump administration does not want the American empire to meet its tragic doom in its tenure, they had better talk and act properly."

*snip*

China is the North’s biggest economic partner and source of aid, but says it alone can’t compel Pyongyang to end its nuclear and missile programs.

Grandpa and dad extorted aid from the west.
Little Kim is like a lot of third generation small business owners

He thinks he can’t fail, he’s had everything handed to him.

He won’t survive this.

His people (outside his military of course) will never know the difference

His people outside his military are merely walking dead.

It's the military he should be concerned about.

If we had then this little tin horn would not have become so emboldened

Obozo, Kerry, and Clinton and their behavior did the US no favors with respect to the current status with NK.

....”back to Kim. He believes...”

Well that would make the difference..what he believes. Regardless of what is true or reality people do make decisions on what they believe..... couple that with his own population highly questions his authority as the rightful leader..he has to prove he’s Mr tough guy to THEM.

IMO it’s the elite leaders under Kim who are defending their cozy lifestyles....none of them give a rats butt about the people there....and most people don’t give a rats butt about one another there as well.

Little Kim nutjob is batshit crazy and I don’t think comprehends what will befall his country should he send missiles toward Guam. He has deluded himself and his toadies into believing they will prevail in a showdown with the US. Kim’s belief was reinforced by Obama, who in this same situation would be dashing off to Pyongyang to appease Kim and declare peace in our time.

The US has had a long standing policy to launch upon missle launch warning. Should the norks launch in the direction of Guam, trump will launch against nk.

The question is what will china do?

Or he could launch a Minuteman to impact the artillery complex within range of Seoul.

"Dial-a-yield" is your *friend*.

This is the perfect time for Xi to make an offer for comfortable exile on a secluded island getaway for Kim and family.

Does Kim still have family? If so, I'm not sure they'd take the offer.

Sounds like they boxed in the fat boy to where they either have to strike first and lose his face, or not strike and lose face.

There, fixed it.

To my knowledge our missiles and other tactical nukes and most bombs are not H bombs.

Where did you get that idea? Last I studied the topic, we had a mix of six or seven different nuclear missile warheads and gravity bombs, all of which were classified as "thermonuclear". That means the design is two-stage, with fission explosions igniting a fusion device. Although the yield is much lower than during the early days of the Cold War (and sometimes actually adjustable), these use isotopes of hydrogen. Therefore, "H-Bomb" is the colloquial term.

You just educated me. Thank you. I thought most were atomic and H was a less common category used for heavier bombs. I didn’t realize our smaller warheads were H bombs.

“Kim looks at that as fewer mouths to feed. A win for him and he can blame it on the Americans.”

If, God forbid, this escalates into a nuclear confrontation, Kim is done and will be killed - either during the explosions or after. No possible way he survives.

The US, China, North Korea and Russia have all been communicating in back channels. The little fat man has been challenging China, ignoring Russia, and taunting the US.

Once Trump unleashes the 301 Trade investigations, China is going to take away North Korea’s nukes. Otherwise, the Chineses economy will shrink exponentially.

Trump is a shrewd negotiator and we should all thank God that he is our President.

Sounds like as good an analysis of the situation as any. I hope you’re right that POTUS’ use of trade leverage against the Chicoms will motivate them to put the screws to Kim Jong Un-glued. China owns this crisis, and they better act like businessmen and not like enablers of commie bellicosity. It’s all up to China, and then it’s up to someone in crazyland to take out the trash.
