Seems like a classic case of “correlation doesn’t prove causation”. This is statistical cherry picking at its best. Just pick an weather event (flood, hurricane, etc.) and then limit the time range of the study to show that this “doesn’t happen” in other places at other times, so, viola!, it must be because of man-made climate change.

Of course, the changes could also be due to the 50 years of flood control infrastructure that Europe has installed to control flooding and channel water.

The real issue is rainfall patterns in Europe and they have not changed
