Yes. The Frankfurt School ran up against it and recognized it as the cause of their defeat to spark revolution in the Unites States. So it got busy.
Having spent time overseas in several places the two tierd society is exactly what they want.
bottom Tier....they get paid about $400/month (at the top end). They live in dorm style housing. The are from elsewhere in the third world and are there on work visas.
They are construction workers, servants, and every other type of service job, which includes Private Security.
Top Tier.... Executives, large business owners, and old family money. They hire the $400/ month either in their businesses or as servants, chauffeurs, teachers, and Security.
The two classes rarely mix except in the business areas. The wealthy live in private compounds that are walled of and have their own services and security. Said security is pretty much able to do whatever is necessary to protect the client without any legal ramifications for excessive use of force, etc. The bottom classes occupy most places, and they are relatively safe because nobody has anything more than you anyway, so there is no point. Everything has bars on it and looks like a jail except in the wealthy enclaves.
