North Korea threatens strike on Guam

North Korea's military is "examining the operational plan" to strike areas around the US territory of Guam with medium-to-long-range strategic ballistic missiles, state-run news agency KCNA said early Wednesday local time. Specifically, the statement mentioned a potential strike on Andersen Air Force Base designed "to send a serious warning signal to the US." The base is one of two on the Pacific island, which are the closest bases on US soil to North Korea, and represent the westernmost tip of the country's military might.

The North Korea comments were published after US President Donald Trump warned Pyongyang that if it continued to threaten the US, it would "face fire and fury like the world has never seen."

I in and out of Guam for a time in the ‘70s. I wouldn’t want to p-o off the native Chamorro’s, they were an unwelcoming group then. Likely to invade NK themselves if attacked. Go POTUS!

After years of inaction, North Korea must be neutralized NOW.

This is the same-old, same-old. The piss-ant in NK starts rattling his sword and someone like Clinton rushes over there and brokers a deal in which he has no authority to engage, we throw a few billion dollars his way, and he shuts up for 6 months until that money runs out and he starts all over again. The only difference is, this time he’s used those billions we gave him to buy a bigger sword.

Bill: Stay home. You’re done with politics and so is that person you jokingly refer to as your wife.

Hilliary and Dennis Rodman will fly over there with a cargo plane full of Twinkies to appease him and then she will claim that she is the one best suited for POTUS and that the election was stolen by Trump with the aid of Russia!..................

Maybe Guam can just duck under the water if a launch is detected?

This is more complicated than it appears, primarily because of prevailing winds in that area. If we nuke NK, the fallout will fall on Japan, our ally. Of course, if he nukes the Japanese or S. Koreans there would be fallout anyway, so the gloves could come off. But if he nukes Guam? Do we punish our ally (Japan) for an attack on American soil? Tubby’s bound to know this, and this probably explains his belligerence.

Like I said, there’s a lot of calculations that will have to be made. And if the conflict stays entirely conventional, it will be very bloody and a lot of S. Koreans (and Americans) will die. They have too many arty tubes and they’ll likely be shooting first.

In a perfect world, the S. Koreans could infiltrate the inner circle and take out all of them. Or maybe there could be an accident next time he visits a munitions factory...

My theory is that the Chinese have agents all throughout the Nork government who will move against the regime when Beijing gives the signal.
