One of the best guitar players that ever loved.
Many people have no idea how good he was.
He was still able to play at the highest levels when he got Alzheimer’s — they were studying him to see how that was possible to look for breakthroughs.
Everything I have ever read about him said he was a heck of a guy who had a wonderful and loving heart.
RIP, Wichita Lineman and prayers for the family.
Unless you are in Congress then you live a long long time or at least it seems that way to me.
Here’s a 1970 movie he starred in. Wasn’t too bad. Reunited him with Kim Darby a year after they did “True Grit.”

My FIL is 93 and works 5-1/2 days a week, every week (he hand makes furniture).
I try to see him every chance I can (he is in Mexico, I am here in the US). Every time we leave from a visit I wonder if this isn’t the last time and I pray it is not. He can’t last forever but ever I met anyone who could, it is him.

Legend is right. I spent a lot of time listening to, and marveling at, his renditions. Too bad about his long goodbye, too. See you in Heaven, man.

We knew this was coming but he was a large part of my musical upbringing and influence. Rest in peace Mr. Campbell. My condolences to your family, friends and fans.

Longevity not good for Alzheimer’s. Lost an aunt to it and my step-father has it....but he’s 93. It’s horrible to watch them change personalities and physically.

His suffering is over.
Another great talent has moved on.
It still pains me what President Reagan must have gone through those final years. It’s just not fair.
Also Frank Sinatra and Elvis; actually just about everyone.
