President Donald Trump on Monday unleashed a hostile tweet storm on Sen. Richard Blumenthal, making a number of claims against the Connecticut Democrat, including that he had lied about serving in Vietnam.
Trump's Twitter fusillade was apparently set off by Blumenthal's appearance on CNN earlier Monday in which he spoke about the investigation into the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russia. "I think is very important to protect and safeguard the independence and integrity of that investigation," Blumenthal said.
Later Monday, Trump suggested Blumenthal take a long vacation in Vietnam "so he can at say he was there."

Trump has done this before. He puts out a major fact—true and accurate—and then he throws in a minor but false detail. The MSM can’t help itself. In their naked desire to correct the negligible detail, they end up reporting the major fact—in this case stolen valor.

Corporal Archie Miller of Portsmouth, Ohio was finally ordered home when he received his 5th Purple Heart in 1945. Unlike blowhard Blumenthal not even seeing an enemy, he served with the army against the Japanese in the South Pacific.
While under enemy fire, and fighting aggressively unlike John Kerry, Miller was wounded 2 times by sniper fire, 2 times by mortar fire, and was last wounded by a Japanese hand grenade.
His wife said he was too tough to die.

So true, but Trump is getting off message. His agenda is going to get him re-elected, not Blumenthal’s lies.
Blumenthal thank and Pocahontas. Two of the biggest liars in American politics. The biggest being Hillary.
If a Conservative falsely claimed Vietnam service, or claimed to be an Indian, it would be the end of a political career. But, when a Democrat does it, it’s ignored, is a resume builder, and the liar is celebrated.
