A group of men identifying themselves as Venezuelan soldiers published a video on social media calling for an overthrow of the socialist regime of dictator Nicolás Maduro, shortly before the government announced it had quelled an uprising in Carabobo state on Sunday.
The incident, which Maduro claims was orchestrated by the American Department of State and unspecified Colombian agents, has added more intrigue to the increasingly chaotic situation in what was once Latin Americas wealthiest state, following Maduros imposition of a parallel socialist legislature tasked with drafting a new constitution more favorable to his regime.

Watching Venezuela like doing a slow-moving high school science experiment - totally predictable
Now kids, we are going to introduce highly caustic socialism into this aqueous solution, pay attention to the explosive reaction and rapid rise in temperature!
A brutal communist government is usually not vulnerable to an armed insurgency. If nothing else they invest heavily in protecting themselves. However massive Gandhi like demonstrations of peaceful civil disobedience witnessed by the world will weaken and overthrow the regime. Its to the eternal shame of Pope Francis, who is not shy about making political pronouncements, that he has done or said absolutely nothing on behalf of the suffering people of Venezuela.
He actually came in on the side of the dictatorial socialist government, by telling the opposition to stand down while he tried to get reconciliation.
He has always been pro-socialist and pro communist.

You’re quite the optimist. It works if the leadership can be shamed into doing the right thing, which was the case with the British in India.
Maduro and his thugs? I wouldn’t count on it. Maybe they can, maybe they can’t.
If anything with cell phones, youtube, internet, social media, disciplined mass Gandhi like civil disobedience demonstrations may be the only practical way to topple Maduro and neutralize his brutes.suspect that there are still some officers who would flinch from firing on unarmed demonstrators who just sat there.
But...but...but...socialism works...it just hasn’t been tried by the right people yet! < /progressive BS >
He is carrying "Render unto Caesar" to extremes, isn't he?
Ghandi-like demonstrations only work on regimes unwilling to shoot people.
Ghandi wouldn’t impress Hitler, wouldn’t impress the Norks, and certainly wouldn’t impress Castro.
You’d just end up with a lot of missing Ghandilike demonstrators.
The most practical way to topple Maduro would be to shoot him in the head.
