Ah, finally, some good news.
Bet rest assured, they’re already scheduling a new vote to happen sooner rather than later — they’ll make a few adjustments.
I arrived at my first job just after a unionization effort had failed. Anti-union employees were beat up and their cars so badly sabotaged that some of them had to quit. The union overplayed their hand and lost the vote.
An honest day's pay for an honest day's work.
Another bureaucratic/socialist hand in your pocket? HOORAY workers.
Unions are encapsulated socialism. It’s a recipe for meritocracy. It’s ‘arbeit macht frei”.
I’ve worked a couple of places with unions and it’s management was so freakin’ afraid of the union, it was pathetic.
I quit the unions in both places. I didn’t see any benefit, and didn’t want to pay the dues.
The only ones who make out like thieves are the union bosses.
My chances of buying a US built Nissan for my next car just increased dramatically.
Good for them!!!
One thing Southerners don’t like is thugs taking the money that they earn.
Stopped in Canton MS once; there was a museum of stuff from a couple films done in the area like My Dog Skip and I think Oprah Winfrey came from there. I remember hearing MS and AL had some car plants including Toyota.
Many, if not most of the workers there in MS are black...yet they STILL GET IT, and for that reason there is hope...but it will take GOP leadership able to speak Jive (as they see it).
Employers usually end up with the unions they deserve. Nissan must be treating its employees fairly.
FAntastic news!
And don’t forget that most of the workers at Nissan’s Canton plant are African-Americans.
“In no way should it be considered a defeat.”
— UAW president Dennis Williams, after the UAW, despite a long and furious organizing campaign, lost a vote to unionize a Mississippi Nissan plant, with 63 percent of the workers voting against joining the union.
So what should be considered a defeat, Mr. Williams? 64 percent voting against you?
Management probably told craft that Japan don’t play that, Homey - and if they vote to organize the plant will be moved within weeks to Japan - IOW UAW Sayanora!

Fat, Dumb and Happy at the UAW
An indictment details a multimillion-dollar corruption scheme
The unions high-paid officials are no doubt cringing over the timing of the indictments release. Employees at Nissan s Mississippi plant are voting this week on whether to join the UAW. Those automotive workers would do well to ask if this is the kind of outfit they want to hand a chunk of their wages to.
The indictment claims Mr. Iacobelli availed himself of National Training Center money, buying limited edition gold Montblanc pens and a $350,000 Ferrari. He also allegedly installed a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and spa at his Michigan home, renovations that cost $375,000, and paid off a relatives student loans.
The feds say they and other conspirators skimmed millions from the UAW National Training Center, a tax-exempt, Fiat Chrysler-funded entity that was supposed to help union automotive workers get job training.
The reason the auto companies are in the South is to escape the unions up north.
The #1 export of the state of Alabama these days is automible and automobile parts. Not timber and timber products anymore.
The GDP of Alabama is greater than that of Iran....with 5 times less people.
We're even competing with Boeing building Airbus commercial passenger aircraft.

Is there a union-built vehicle that is on anyone's top-10 quality list? I'm thinking no.
Union NO
Mississippi Toyota/UAW ping.
