I’ll go with the Biblical designation of “abomination”. Even the designation as “mental illness” was the top of a slippery slope whose intent was eventual so-called “normalization”. (Same goes for Karl-Maria Kertbeny and his invention of the terms “homosexual” and “heterosexual”, frankly.)
