While I do agree with your sentiments, Mooch’s faux pas with Ryan Lizza betrays either bad judgement, or unacceptable naiveté.
Either way, while his dismissal is regrettable, it WAS the right thing to do.
In fact the gaffe would have only strengthened Mooch and helped put things into perspective for him in the long haul.
