This is why some of those ACLU type videos about what to do on a police encounter could potentially come in handy. Close windows, turn off engine, get out of car, lock doors, stand and wait for officer with hands visible and no sudden movements.
They confiscate from some and then let them go. Or only half makes it to the evidence room as evidence. Been happening for years and years.
The officers feared for their lives and just wanted to get home to their families. Also one of them has a daughter who wanted a car just like this one and that’s what forfeiture laws are for right.

Many cops will go berserk (and with good reason) if you try to get out of your car.
So if you are told to stay in your car, and you roll down your window a bit to give the cop your driver’s license, he can “smell marijuana”. I guess if he wants ya, he gots ya.
Keep your hands on the steering wheel where the officer can see them.
Only remove them with the officer’s permission for a specific purpose.

Good advice, to which I’d add:
- If it’s night, turn your interior dome light on.
- Always ask for permission before making a move. As in: My driver’s license is in my wallet. May I get it?
I don’t get in these kinds of situations, but if I were concerned about being targeted by local police, I would evaluate the circumstances then consider leaving my vehicle. I have no intention of allowing police to easily frame me just because the officer wants me in my vehicle.
One time honest Bob was arrested for possession of just under an ounce of weed in Ca. At the time, Possession of an ounce or under was like a traffic ticket. Bob went to court and the judge asked Bob “you have been charged with possession of a half ounce of marijuana, how do you plead?”.
Honest Bob said “Your honor? where did the other half go? I was caught with a whole ounce”. Both turned and looked at the arresting officer. The judge then said “Bob...today is your lucky day, Case dismissed and Officer Smith you and I have talked about this before!”.
Please add me to the ping list.
Thanks
Civil forfeit seizure of all available assets!
Jeffie Likey very much!
Done! Welcome aboard!
By the time Officer Friendly gets to my car all interior lights are on, the ignition is off, the keys are on the dash, I have my driver license, registration, and insurance readily at hand, the passenger side window is fully down, my hands are on the wheel, and I have a puzzled look on my face...
Crooked cops should get twice the mandatory sentencing AND be put in general population.
Cops that shield crooked cops are complicit and should be convicted too.
POLICE YOURSELVES GUYS
Good test!
Posting weird gay liberal media propaganda, I see.
Is this the official thread for the Black Lives Matter supporters?

No, it’s the unofficial thread of the 4th Amendment supporters.

I thought it was funny. And as someone that has done a lot of research on the subject, I can tell you that you may be shocked at how much of what he said is true.
