The Baltimore Police Department suspended seven officers after body camera video emerged that the city's public defender said appeared to show them planting drugs in a car during a traffic stop, the second such episode in the city in two weeks.

No worries. The Baltimore Police Commissioner said that it's just "growing pains" with the new technology. Maybe so...
Anyway, this story shows why one should politely refuse permission when a police officer asks to search your car. But if they "smell marijuana", your permission of course would not be needed.
This is crazy. Pretty much every person imprisoned in Baltimore for drug possession has a pathway to freedom now. Plus a payday awaiting!

Yep, especially if that person was arrested by one of the seven suspended officers.
Where did the cops acquire the drugs?

People are catching on in droves. I love the internet for what it can do.
What's the best alternative to photo*ucket?
They want hundreds of dollars to allow me to post graphics on FR.
The police are not always right and these actions of corrupt police give them all a bad name.
From the precinct evidence room?
I wonder what the penalty would be if I got caught framing a friend like that.
BTW, it looks like one of the “growing pains” is learning that the camera saves the 30 seconds BEFORE you turn it on. ;-)
Every one of them should be charged and Prosecuted for :
Possession
Felony Distribution
Extortion
Racketeering
FELONY KIDNAPPING!!!
“Davis also released other videos that he said raised the possibility the officers in the earlier incident were not planting drugs but instead wrongly staged cleaner reshoots of an earlier narcotics discovery.”
HAHAHAHA!
That’s funny right there.
It’s kinda the police version of the classic “I was holding it for a friend” drug bust suspect.

Also, please add me to the JBT ping list.
I’m with you. I think about half of them are good cops. I personally know cops from both sides.
It’s why I’m always nice and respectful to any officer that pulls me over.
Thanks! Welcome aboard!

My guess: Make a drug bust. Confiscate 15 grams of marijuana (or whatever). Turn 10 grams in to the evidence room. Keep the rest.
Decades of corrupt police who not only defend this utter bullsh!t but attack those who oppose it rather than implementing criminal procedings against those who do this are really what has destroyed law enforcement.
One hundred percent of those decrying the video recording of law enforcement are part of that ilk.
One of those is my brother in law on the Fort Worth Police Department.
There are a small number of them active on this forum.
Were the police expected to behave differently?? It is, after all, BALTIMORE!
It’s not okay for police to frame someone they know is guilty, even if they’re right. Police should always respect the Constitution and the truth.
