White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said a top White House aide put a CNN reporter "in his place" at the press briefing on Wednesday.
Senior Policy Adviser Stephen Miller slammed CNN's Jim Acosta as having a "cosmopolitan bias" when Acosta questioned him about newly proposed U.S. immigration policy.
Speaking on FOX News Channels "Hannity," Sanders predicted CNN would only run an "edited version" of the showdown which took place earlier in the day.
"But my guess is, it's not the version where Stephen Miller puts him in his place," she said.
Miller took questions on the new policy from reporters at the on-camera press briefing and clashed with several reporters asking questions.
On-camera press briefings have been rare at the White House prior to Sanders taking over as chief press secretary. But Sanders commented that viewers are "smart" about such public battles.
"I think America is much smarter than the media gives them credit for, and I think that is certainly working toward our advantage," she said.
"Hannity's" full interview with Sanders will air at 10 p.m. ET.
Acosta’s “place” is well outside the white house grounds.
Stop allowing that &#^$ in the building.
Amen!
Acosta should be booted and CNN should be notified if they can’t send a reporter that doesn’t try to be the news don’t send anyone at all.
Stop calling on him! Why even give him the opportunity to ask a question?
....Speaking on FOX News Channels “Hannity,” Sanders predicted CNN would only run an “edited version” of the showdown which took place earlier in the day....
That’s exactly what Fake News Wolf Blitzer did this afternoon. An attempt to put Acosta in the best possible light.
Interesting to note that
after the slogan was added in 1903, a full 50% of those “immigrants” arriving at Ellis Island near Lady Liberty were sent back home as ineligible to enter the USA.
So, the slogan didn’t apply to everyone in the tired, huddled masses.
“Reporter” Acosta never bothered asking a question. He just made his bloviating statements. He is no reporter!
...a preening POS.
Right on.
CNN probably tells him to go there and just yell random questions and don’t worry about sounding foolish. We’ll edit it up to make you look smart and Trump’s people look stupid.
I happened to watch the press briefing and Acosta was s smarmy jack-wagon who was definitely put in his place.
His questions should have never been answered. The questions themselves are based on deceit.
We have another fighter!
Now we need 1,000 more.
Stephen Miller missed a golden opportunity of pointing out that the largest Circulation in world of an English language newspaper is Times of India. Of the 1300 million Indians, at least 300 million speak English, which is more than population of UK or Australia. And perhaps more English speaking people in India than United States cough cough.
Agreed, I watched it live too and Acosta got what he deserved.
Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, . . .
They must want CNN to stay in the dog house or they would NEVER call on Cry Baby Acosta.
Re: Miller Time - It was breathtaking! Both Jim & Glen would not allow Stephen to finish answering the question! (Typical leftist)! They had no manners & were completely uncivilized! Jim was rude and made an insipid attempt to turn a poem into US immigration law! How moronic is that?
Yes, if you couldn’t pass the stringent health exam or the audit of your finances, you had to wait at Ellis Island for the next boat to haul your a** back to Europe. In the case of my family in 1870, they had to prove they had bought property in Texas before they were allowed to leave the immigration center in Galveston. Emma Lazarus didn’t have room in her poem to put in all those mandatory requirements to settle in the USA.
