if you have arthritis, you might try the longer fast if you are able. I have found that 72 hour fast, from evening Thursday to evening Sunday when I start hurling has made all the difference.
I was told that it would not help osteoarthritis but it did for me.

Particularly regarding the arthritis, my biggest problem is the nightshade vegetables (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant,etc.) At least in my case, the more of those I eat, the worst the symptoms. It is tough because I dearly love them all. I definitely do better when I can minimize those foods.
