The core BLM message is 180° off, which is the fundamental problem. When stats are corrected for the number of likely interactions with police (which roughly correlates to incidence of violent crime) the statistics show that whites are disproportionately more likely to be killed by cops than blacks.

Two issues here. The issue of the search warrant has been discussed so I will mention the other issue - Use of SWAT to “shock and awe” the target location.

I am of the opinion that ALL SWAT units should be only under the local sheriff’s office. This puts the unit and deployment of that unit under an elected LEO.

Second, I am of the opinion that unless the warrant has been approved by a judge as a dangerous situation, the warrant requires a knock, an identification, and presentation of the copy of the warrant. Dangerous situation warrants should require an additional sworn oath that states the reason for need for no knock or the need for shock and awe.

Had the LEO unit knocked on the door, identified and presented the warrant. Instructed the family members to gather in the living room, put an officer in the room to supervise the family while the officers searched the house, this would have been handled much more professionally.

“The children will now be “enemies of the police” the rest of their lives.”

It’ll instill a deep contempt for the uniform that might never go away.

This is Johnson Co Kansas. I was born and raised there and back then (70s) the JC Sheriffs were notorious A-Holes to be avoided at all costs. Still have family there and it’s only gotten worse.

End the WOD now.

The WOD has emboldened the new breed of LEO to become the the enforcers of the War on Citizens. Steal your money, your house, your bank account and anything else they can lay their hands on.

“Lol. Now people too lazy to read an article”

There are so many BS articles being posted lately: AP, NYT, the CA parrot-cage liners, WashPost, etc., I don’t blame those of us who balk at reading them.
Not being an `echo chamber’ doesn’t mean we have to roll in their filth. Free Republic is supposed to be a refuge from the non-stop barrage of MSM “resistance”.
Chicago Trib? You can read them, every word. I’ll pass. LOL

“The core BLM message is 180° off, which is the fundamental problem.”

Of course. But irrelevant. Once a kid has endured the kind of wrong headed treatment listed in the article, they will at the very least be sympathetic to BLM style movements if not full participants.

For this kind of story, the article was rather long, but it was instructive. Nowadays, many have become used to reading second hand reviews and brief summaries of articles and not the actual text. We need to know how this was led up to.
The family was having their garbage searched and examined for about three days prior to the ‘invasion’.
The plant store customers were being surveilled and catagoried by license plate when they visited certain stores.

The plant store customer’s frequency of visits to that store were also being noted.
This is basic police work which is needed in many cases.
Some would say there wasn’t enough data to warrant this level of investigative work. Others would praise the officers due diligence.

They get the badge and go on a power trip. Punk with a badge, I have seen it in the rural area where I live. They see the tv shows and they get the badge, uniform and gun and think they are “Johnny Law” as my son calls them. He just started his law enforcement career and he detests these types. Total Barney Fifes with more than one bullet and it’s not in their shirt pocket.

My son has told me about more than one officer let go in his department, not following orders, and in general making themselves total aholes to the community. The department knows some people are always going to complain regardless but when you have your civilized members of society complaining and complaining about the same officer and the same things and often you have a problem. After many warnings, retraining and chances to redeem themselves, the head of his department fires them which I give him credit.

I have told my son, be more like Andy and not Barney, you will get further in your career and if you are fair the people will remember you and respect you for it. Remember the Bill of Rights when you make contact with any citizen, they have Rights just like you.

This whole situation should have been handled better, their evidence for a warrant was anorexic thin and that goes back to judges, do they really look at the evidence when a warrant request is made or do they rubber stamp everything? Also when a police department makes such colossal fools of themselves, denying it, lying about it and knowingly pushing on with the lie is absurd. Apologize, discipline officers involved appropriately and learn from the mistake.

The front door gatherings can be stopped by just installing a pipe/funnel system that allows pouring gas from a 5 gallon gas can into it where it pours out at the feet of those gathered there. Upon smelling the fuel, the gathering will disperse quickly. Anyone with a gun can not fire it. Low teach dispersion of high tech illegal entry.

If not for the BLM idiots, I think there would have been a massive backlash against police in the last few years. These are not the police we grew up with, since 9/11, they treat American citizens like an occupying army.

It’s only BLM and SJW types pushing anti-white stuff that has caused most white Americans to move back towards a more pro-police position, a mistake in my view.

As much as I love Jeff Sessions on immigration, he is horrifically bad on civil liberties issues. That a weakness of the Trump admin. as a whole.

Modern police are largely tax collectors like from Biblical times.
