............well, if I were on the jury it would take about 5 minutes for a verdict!

Then about another 5 for agreement on an amount.

Don’t want to break the county so I would only add about 1 million or a total of 8 million.

The judge that issued the warrant should be held up for scrutiny too.

“Unfortunately, plenty of “conservatives” here fully & proudly support all of the above.”

Visit any Waco discussion thread and you’ll see a few “consistent” “conservative” posters who would have gladly implemented BJ’s wife’s plans for America, but I cannot agree that there are “plenty”.

Found this gem in the article:

In 2011, Wingo conceived of "Operation Constant Gardener." In his letter to law enforcement, Wingo stated he would "supply your agency with the names of these customers that are within your jurisdiction. This will give your agency two weeks to initiate brief investigation" to "obtain probable cause for a search warrant." Then, per Wingo's plan, the various agencies would all strike on the same day — April 20. Wingo chose the timing due to the date's association with weed life: it was a date "celebrated in that community much as we celebrate Christmas." Wingo promised the operation would be a "significant media event."

Oh, yes .. a "Media Event". Bastard wanted to be a celebrity, wave his dxxx around in front of the media.

Unfortunately, plenty of “conservatives” here fully & proudly support all of the above.

I don't get why. When I lived in NYC, I found NYPD officers to be some of the dumbest people I had ever met -- even the White ones. Absolute retards, with fascist impulses and ZERO understanding of the law and the rights of citizens.

“The police don’t realize the damage they do to their reputation every time they do this.”

The truth of the matter is that they really don’t care about “damage,” because they “are the police,” and they have long forgotten for whom they really work.
I realize that there are exceptions, but my experience, limited as it is, is that the police are arrogant, liars whose main purpose is not to catch the guilty near as much as it is to entrap the innocent. And if you don’t believe what I’ve written, just you try filing a complaint against a cop with his department like I did a few years ago. You have no idea the lengths to which they will go to threaten and intimidate you if you question one of “their own.”

Stuff like this makes me want to start a hydroponic poison ivy farm. Sure, officer, pick through my trash for weeks. You’ll be itching for a raid. Bring the drug dog to get his nose into my leaves for a big sniff too.

...friend with Multiple Sclerosis who got his life back thanks to cannabis.

Me too! Except my friend is a “her”.

The stories are legion and passed the point of being reasonably ignored as exagerations years ago. I think this is why it is being legalized in so many places so fast.

I honestly believe that its open use medicinally would get us out of our health care crisis. And that is why I think it is being fought. The crisis is being used to control the masses, who seem to finally be fighting back.

How can you mistake teavana tea leaves as marijuana, for those who should have known better?

J....when I was an advide gardener, I used to make tomato wine. My neighbor really liked the buzz he got from it. He suggested that I should send a sample to the USDA for alcohol content which I did. Two weeks later, I received a letter from USDA stating ;Dear Sir, We regret to advise you that your horse has diabetes. :-)

Lol. Now people too lazy to read an article expect to be coddled by those who did.

What about tradition? On FR as on most sites, it is bad form to read the article - especially before commenting.

There is no incentive for officers to stop doing this sort of thuggish behavior. First, they only have to SUSPECT you have illegal drugs and they can seize every bit of your property, and they get to keep the money for more department goodies like assault weapons, body armor, armored vehicles, SWAT teams, etc. Second, even if they are wrong, nothing happens to them.

End the WOD now.

Pure laziness, incompetence and absolute stupidity on the part of the police.

They should be made to pay for their idiocy.........................

As a resident of JOCO and knowledge of the Sheriffs’ dept its very disappointing that they made this big of a mistake. I assume that the victim will win the next round.

Yes, but the warrant was based on finding “stems and seeds” in their trash that later turned out to be tea leaves.

It is cut and dried without a warrant. But even so, you have no recourse at the time whether they have a warrant or not. Men with guns -- many of whom have authority issues -- break down your door, you do what they say and have your lawyer deal with the aftermath. Any other choice is suicide.

Unfortunately, plenty of "conservatives" here fully & proudly support all of the above.

And they like to call themselves "small government" conservatives who believe in minimal government!

Haw haw haw! Ain't that a laugh!

These nanny-state authoritarians necessarily support the ever-expanding police state which is required in order to enforce such things as Contraband Law.

I utterly reject the false framework wherein peaceable, free People are supposed to choose between competing "flavors" of Tyranny—Left or Right.

No thanks. I'll take actual Liberty, with all of its inconvenient challenges.

Anyone's concept of "Liberty" which includes Arbitrary Law—bashing down doors with no-knock warrants, or warrants issued without probable cause, or warrantless searches, or disregard for others' privacy—doesn't even understand what true Liberty even is.

True Liberty includes the right to be left the f--k alone. As long as you're not infringing on someone else's Natural Rights, the "Pursuit of Happiness" means what you define it as—and not anyone else.
