Personally, I am in favor of Calexit - 55 Left wing electoral votes, 2 Democrat Senators, and 40+ Democrat reps gone.
Just looking at the politics, I think national Democrats would be against this.
Trump would have won the election easily, if you back out the popular vote and electoral votes from California. Democrats at the national level need California to be competitive in presidential elections.
this is sort of funny. Leftist types are the ones pushing this Cal Exit thing, but other leftists such as national Democrats have to be strongly against a liberal bastion leaving the union.
I would not be opposed either and they can take Portland and Seattle as well. The left would never win another national election.
And the left vs right rift is getting so bad that a divorce may actually be a good thing.
