The Seattle Mayors office coordinated with a Cal Berkeley economist to manipulate a study on the effects of a $15 minimum wage for maximum political benefit, according to emails obtained by the Employment Policies Institute (EPI).
A staffer for Democratic Mayor Ed Murray reached out to the Cal Berkeley economics department asking them to rush the release of a study, released in June, that cast a positive light on Seattles increased minimum wage ordinance.
The Berkeley studys findings contradicted those of a then forthcoming University of Washington (UW) study, which found that Seattles increased minimum wage had cost low-skill workers $179 per month and hurt employment numbers. Murrays office also explicitly asked Berkeley economist Michael Reich to remove all mentions of the UW study so as not to aid in its dissemination.
Leave the critique of the UW study until later, mayoral staffer Carlo Caldirola-Davis said in an email obtained by the EPI through a public records request. The release still calls out the UW study. Dont want your positive news to serve as a teaser for the UW study.

Ed Murray should be more worried about his own problems.
Eggheads helping the knuckleheads! Both losers!
Same O, Same O,
Let’s ignore the study in the local area and believe one that says what we want it to say. Let’s pass it so we can figure out what’s in it.
Same logic(?). different day.

Collusion!
Breakfast for 4 in practically empty Seattle diner last week: $60 including gruff, rude waiters without tips.
Time for a reset and official debunk.
Did I miss a dramatic shift in the universe or would it still be breaking news if a liberal mayor in a liberal city didn’t manipulate everything for political gain?
Mayor Fatty Gay McPedophile would never stoop to something so unscrupulous.
