Psychiatrising every criminal means to put criminals at the same level or honorable citizens, all under psychiatry.
The Kentuky DOT felt appropriate to flash messages: “do not forget your child in the car”
Really? Now we ask criminals nicely and remind them as if they were just forgetful people? And this message was also addressed to the rest of reaponsible people who do not need this nanny government conditioning, or should we say, mostly addressed, because obviously criminals do not listen and only follow their plans and peoclivities and cults of death.
Your last line states the whole issue perfectly.
I watched it AFTER the election and almost choked I was laughing so hard.

I love the part where the guy tries to claim the African American vote could be down because the voting machines they get are not as good... lying fool... the voting machines are the same in every way as the others in their county.

As silly as this whole thing is, perhaps the biggest problem *IS* not either gang violence or the propensity of (some) police to shoot when even slightly frightened, but the fact that many cities and counties are asking cops to be mental health professionals.
Just having a mental illness should not be a death sentence merely because the person you encounter is trained to escalate to deadly force, nor is expecting someone with ten or twenty hours of ancillary training in dealing with mentally disturbed to be able to diagnose and stabilize a serious mental condition.
Police don’t ask you to drop your weapon. They give you an order! If you do not drop it, they will shoot you.

Back in the 70’s this was called “Streaking”.
An honorable pasttime at baseball games, football games, etc., down in my old hometown of Philly...
I remember one incident in particular... the Flyers were in the Stanley Cup finals against Boston... we were in the schoolyard, outside, 8th grade... A guy was standing in the bed of a pickup truck with “FLYERS #1” painted in orange and black on his nekkid butt and back, waiting at the traffic light, with car horns honking. Wasn’t showing his junk, just his back.
He just waved and smiled... All of us kids were rolling on the ground laughing. The driver of the truck pulled away, with the Flyers fan standing there waving at everyone.
Suffice to say, the Nuns were NOT happy, and could not get us herded inside fast enough.
It was a great moment of Philly anarchy...
