Washington (CNN)The US military has detected "highly unusual and unprecedented levels" of North Korean submarine activity and evidence of an "ejection test" in the days following Pyongyang's second intercontinental ballistic missile launch this month, a defense official told CNN on Monday.
An ejection test examines a missile's "cold-launch system," which uses high pressure steam to propel a missile out of the launch canister into the air before its engines ignite, preventing damage to the submarine or submersible barge that would launch the missile.

It’s MOAB time for Fat-un.
NeoCon fake news
my question - why is the deep state so hell bent on having another war, any war ?
EMP drills?
When was the last time CNN ‘reported’ anything reliable????????
so you’re good with the Norks having and routinely launching ballistic missiles?
You may be right, but at this point in history who knows who is telling the truth? There are facts, however. These include the role of the Clinton-Albright ‘kick the can down the road’ appeasement ‘deal’ that helped facilitate the North Koreans getting nukes in the first place.
“When was the last time CNN reported anything reliable????????”
The only words they utter that I generally trust are “We’ll be back after the break”.
I agree - the military-industry complex is licking their chops for another war to make that $$$$ ... but unlike the weak Middle East, NK is another animal altogether, could lead to major war in asia
Must be difficult maintaining neutral buoyancy.
The deep state does love war, but I’m not sure their preferred war would be with NK. Unfortunately that regime has been ignored for too long. For years I’ve heard the “experts” say NK just likes to provoke to get attention and financial aid. Now look at the damage they are capable of.
I hope we don’t use the same strategy with Iran.
That’s a weird looking thing
P!
Their “provoke to get attention and financial aid” strategy seems to be working in a somewhat beneficial fashion with Moscow becoming even more supportive as Putin likes to see us on edge. I think that the quick and unexpected progress they’ve recently demonstrated comes at least in part from Russia. The Chinese are still supportive in trade and protection but I can see Putin being interested in a North Korean offensive strike so long as he can maintain plausible deniability. It would certainly divert the attention of the world from the Ukraine and such.
Putin wants to have a leverage on the cheap, jumping into the fray late in the game. Stalin reportedly saw the value of creating conflict in Korean Peninsula as a way of diverting attention from Europe, where his plan of further expanding Soviet takeover met resistance from U.S..
It remains to be seen if Russia is doing it purely on its own or in tandem with China.
