Gray is under team control at reasonable rates through 2019. He joins Luis Severino, CC Sabathia, Masahiro Tanaka, and newly-acquired Jaime Garcia in a strong rotation.

The Yankees also got $1.5 million in international bonus slot money.

It’s hard to hate the Yankees the same way you could when Steinbrenner was alive.

The Yankee pitching needs some improvement, but what they really need is to start hitting with runners in scoring position.
Sunday's RISP was 1-for-11.

The Dodgers better tell Darvish to stop worrying about getting the strikeouts and just get people out.

I sure hope that the Atlanta Braves drove up the market price.

I think we’re looking at Dodgers-Astros frankly.

Yankees v Dodgers would be sweet and a classic affair.

It’s what America wants to see.

Astros v Dodgers would be good as well.

LA also got two lefty relievers, Tony Watson (from the Pirates) and Tony Cingrani (from the Reds.)

With this and the White Sox and Twins trades, the Yankees have built a very strong pitching staff, and they didn’t have to give up their top prospects.

The offense is better than it looked yesterday. They had just won 6 in a row to reclaim first place.

Can we draw Vin Sculley out of retirement?

Yankees v Dodgers would be sweet and a classic affair.

Enjoy Tony Watson, Dodger fans.
What we have seen in Pittsburgh this season
has NOT been pretty.

No superstars in that group, but it should be enough to get the Wildcard.

Last time I looked, they were leading their division 24 & a 1/2 games over 500 at home and two games under away.

We are required to watch either the Yankees or the Red Sox on the tube more than any other teams in the game here is Seattle. Every year, better than half of the televised games here are those two teams. I have stopped watching baseball because of it. I couldn’t be further away from them unless I moved to Hawaii.

Additionally, the Yankees have violated the luxury tax every year since 2003, the only team to do that. And they have offset the “bill” by being paid high money from television contracts like ESPN must pay to televise them. This rules was made as a deterrent for teams to stack themselves with high paid players that could go to other teams making the competition better. And the Yankees have ignore it since the early 2000’s knowingly. I dislike crooks.

The Yankees are one of the powerhouses of the American League now. They should win the AL East.

The networks wouldn’t mind either.

The Yankees got better, the Dodgers got better, the Cubs got better, the Red Sox improved a bit, the Nationals got better. The TV boys are happy, happy, happy.

Sunday wasn’t good. However, they’ve put up enough offense to win 9 of their last 11.

The Yankees gave up three excellent prospects. Oakland did well.
