Trump needs a chairman for his Council of Economic Advisers. When will Democrats confirm him?
Fox News ^ | July 30, 2017 | John R Lott Jr

It’s the middle of July, and President Trump still doesn’t have a chairman for his Council of Economic Advisers. His nominee, Kevin Hassett, is a world-recognized expert on taxation, but he has been stuck on the sidelines despite tax reform being one of the administration’s big goals this year. He is the one person who could explain how the different parts of the tax bill fit together.

White House advisor Gary Cohn has reportedly told associates that time is running out for tax reform. He worries that if tax reform doesn't get done by the end of the year, it likely won’t happen at all. Missing key players such as Hassett doesn’t help.

The delay reflects only Democrat’s unwillingness to confirm any Trump nominee. Hassett is not a controversial pick.

The Senate Banking Committee very easily advanced Hassett’s nomination last month, with only Elizabeth Warren opposing. Other liberal Democrats such as Sherrod Brown (Ohio), Jack Reed (R.I.), Robert Menedez (N.J.), and Brian Schatz (Hawaii) all voted in Hassett’s favor.

According to organizations such as the AFL-CIO, the League of Conservation Voters, and Americans for Democratic Action, these Senators have perfect or near-perfect liberal voting records. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) was the only committee member who opposed Hassett.

Assuming there is a recess. They have already threatened the Pro Forma so they will not be an actual Recess to keep Trump from replacing Sessions. Never has a President faced such treachery from his own party. If he pulls thier Obongo care exemption l’m betting it is what they will do.

Obstructing a legally elected president like this is a form of treason.

Democrats are at the very least trying to subvert the will of the people.

So maybe that's what he is doing. Give me a recess or you will all end up on zero-care. 😂

Well, Trump doesn’t get a recess, so why should congress?

Let them stick around till the next election. But the second the gavel goes down for a recess is the second that Trump appoints 250 swamp drainers.

It is a given the Dems will obstruct. I blame McConnell for a lack of backbone and total adherence to the Senate rules over American progress. Dems have no problem ignoring the rules when it is to their benefit.

Democrats, Deep State, GOP Elites (aka the Political Sewer) are traitors!

Traitor - (definition) a person who betrays a friend, country, principle, etc.
Appears to fit, IMO.

McConnell has a little backbone, but not much. Consider this - if roles were reversed on skinny repeal, what do you think the Dem leadership would do to McCain for pulling this weeks stunt? Cancer aside, they would destroy him. Make an example of him. They don’t put up with not carrying the party line.

Bring the guy on board as a consultant to work on tax reform while he’s waiting confirmation.
