I’ve like Jeff Sessions for a long time because we think much alike when it comes to illegal immigration.

Mr. Sessions strength is he is a likable affable fellow but it’s also his weakness because he is perceived to be weak as an AG. He may or may not be but that is the perception.

I think if he can figure out how to wear the hat of a deliberate and determined AG and personify that image to the people and President Trump; things will work out just fine even with his leg hobbled by the recusal of which I believe he had no choice. The rules and laws are clear on this.

The dems are disgusting cretins but they are not stupid politically. They maneuvered this special counsel thing into play quite deftly and now the GOPe in bed with the dems will not let it be undone.

Seems like our biggest problems always come back to the RINO’s like McStain, Collins, Nasty Graham, Murkowski, and their ilk who create these problems rather than work for the people to solve them. Their agenda is not simpatico with the American people at all. They clearly work for Soros and other un-American power brokers behind the scenes which means they are all turncoats.

I hope karma hurts them really bad and soon.

If you can’t trust Sessions in one position, why put him on another? There’s so much frustration among Americans, there have to be good ones to fill these jobs and do a good job at them.

That seals it. Definitely not true.

Bravo! Someone else who understands Sessions. He has plenty of spine. He stood virtually alone on the illegal immigration issue. He took the slings and arrows of the left and the rinos. For heaven sakes, he destroyed the Klan in Alabama when they were still dangerous. This is a man of courage and principle. It is the quiet warrior who is most effective.

Not the worst idea peereeno ever had. Shuffle Sessions to DHS so the senate won’t refuse to confirm a replacement. Then put Rudy in at AG.

AG Sessions recused himself because it's the law. It was also the smart thing to do. If he hadn't he would've accomplished none of the good work behind the scenes he's doing.....getting swampthings out of the Justice Department and reversing the invasion of the US, including now dealing with Sanctuary Cities.

If he hadn't recused himself it would be "Russia, Russia, Russia" 24/7, and he'd be left with no time or staff to do the AG's job.

As far as the hearings go? AG Sessions explained himself in the hearing, and there was nothing there. Jared Kushner seems to have done pretty well. That's the best way to handle it, as it drags out and ever more people get sick of it.

No, why move a problem to another area? Sessions is old, worn out, and needs to retire and spend time with his family. He should do so before being fired or dying of old age in office. He has embarrassed Trump and allowed an unbridled prosecutor loose that is clearly on a politically-motivated and staffed witch hunt. Shame on Sessions. He needs to go.

No Rudy, corrupt. And Christie, like his spirit but he can’t help but keep embarrassing himself. Not sure what he does next, once out of the governor’s office. He’s hated in NJ and is not a conservative—does not respect 2nd amendment, does not respect borders and laws, instead supports amnesty and invasion by illegal aliens. We need new blood.

Sessions wants to be the AG.

This shouldn't be about Sessions. This is about doing what's in the best interest of the country.

So now they want someone who "isn't forceful enough" to run Homeland Security?

You're not listening to what people are saying.

Sessions isn't forceful enough against the Deep State and Democrat political corruption.

Session is forceful against illegal immigration.

We area asking Trump and his admin to do too much. We want the level of change that historically speaking usually, if not always, requires a civil war to affect. We are asking for a peaceful revolution which is rare bird indeed.

Sessions does not have the strategic or law enforcement background to be a good fit for Homeland Security. John Kelley, a military man, did incredibly well there. With our border under attack and invaders in the cities, a military man needs to be in charge of Homeland Security.

I agree. Sessions needs to remain as Attorney General. He is doing an outstanding job. I can assure you folks that Special Council, Robert Mueller is dead in the water. Mueller does not need Trump or Sessions to do him in, he has already done that to himself, buffoon, that he is!!!

Remember this...nothing is as dead as an idea or thought that never was and never will be. The collusion with the Russians if anything, was with Democrats. POTUS, Trump needs to realize the overwhelming majority of the American people could care less what Mueller and company dredge up. DJT, just do your thing & MAGA!!! The American people love you and your entire family.

"With our border under attack and invaders in the cities, a military man needs to be in charge of Homeland Security."

It would seem to me that border defense would fall under the auspices of the military. If we have to have a separate Homeland Security agency, wouldn't it make more sense to fold it under the umbrella of the Department of Defense .. I mean, after all, it is the Department of Defense now and not the War Department.

If you assign, through military channels, a general officer to be the "Commander" of Homeland Security, I wonder if that would get around the requirement of it having to go through the Senate for "advise and consent".

“If he hadn’t recused himself it would be “Russia, Russia, Russia” 24/7”

I don’t know where you live, but it IS “Russia, Russia, Russia” 24/7.

And, there are plenty of legal experts who say that he did not have to recuse himself.

And, the acting head of the FBI has a much more pressing need to recuse himself, and Sessions says not a word.

“AG Sessions explained himself in the hearing, and there was nothing there.”

And then immediately acted like there was something there by recusing himself. Let me ask: If his recusal actually meant nothing, then why did the Left demand that he recuse himself? If he had not recused himself, there would be no Mueller and this collusion nonsense would have been on a downward trend. Now, with Hillary Clinton’s campaign staff empowered, by the U.S. government, investigating Trump with an army of lawyers, it is set for the foreseeable future with Republicans and democrats threatening Trump if he fights back.

By the way, is asset forfeiture a good work?

One confirmation hearing is bad enough. Two would be a major distraction.

It does seem that Kelley got a lot done because it’s Homeland Security and not like with the military, arguing about going to go to war. What elected swampthing would ever opposes what Homeland Security does? That and not supporting Veterans issues are, I would think, the two things that could get any one of them defeated.

Not if it's used for the wrong reasons. If it's used to take all assets away from international drug cartels or invaders illegal acquisitions, yes. We're also at war with courts that have rogue justices. Asset forfeiture if used properly can be a useful tool.

Not really. Mueller will find no collusion - we all know that. What he will do is find some financial mis-deed by Trump in the past - and get an indictment and conviction from all Dem all Black D.C. juries.

What he won’t do is go after Fusion GPS or ANY Dem mis- deed.

A new AG won’t fire Mueller - he’ll just clip his wings - keep the focus on Russian “collusion”. The new AG will go after Fusion, et al.

This switch must be done with Session’s public approval - he must embrace his new job. But can the new AG get Senate approval? Apparently, the Senate agenda is full for the balance of the year.
