State Department defends terrorism report

The US State Department defended an annual report on terrorism under fire from pro-Israel groups for saying that a “lack of hope” drives Palestinian Arab violence.

Meanwhile, the umbrella foreign policy group for Jewish organizations expressed its “deep concerns” about the report, saying it shifts responsibility for terrorism from the Palestinians to Israel.

“In that report we consistently highlight terror attacks perpetrated against Israelis – and I’m just talking about the Israel portion – because this is a worldwide report,” Heather Nauert, the State Department spokeswoman, said Tuesday in a briefing when asked about a call from the Zionist Organization of America for Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s resignation because of the report.

“Those terror attacks that are perpetuated against Israelis by Hamas and others, there is no justification – and we will say that time and time again – there is no justification for any acts of terrorism,” she said, adding that Tillerson had no plans to resign.

The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations on Wednesday said it wrote Tillerson to express “deep concern” about the report.

When is Trump going to drain the swamp at the State Department? Every single Obama appointee should have long since been fired. If he can’t get his PAS nominees through the Senate, appoint a bunch of Trump Schedule Cs until he can get new management in place. Tillerson needs to purge foggy bottom or go.

Do the geeks who write these reports also believe the Germans invaded Poland and the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor because of a lack of hope?

for saying that a “lack of hope” drives Palestinian Arab violence.
Do these morons even read the crap they write? If you lack hope why even bother to be violent? Doesn’t make any sense. It is not a lack of anything that cause the violence it an abundance of hatred that does!

I doubt State would be defending a controversial report without Tillerson's OK. At this point it's reasonable to assume he agrees with the report. I don't see any indication of any major changes at State, or any other departments.

Tillerson embraces Middle East linkage theory

Tillerson is a Realist and all Realists subscribe to Linkage.

OTOH, NeoCon republicans and Liberal Interventionist democrats do not subscribe to Linkage. This is why most NeoCons supported Liberal Interventionist Hillary for prez. The NeoCons think Trump is a Pat Buchanan isolationist.

Btw..for those that watched scaramucci implode last night...this morning it is clear he meant to imply RP in the deleted tweet given Interviews this morning.

RP needs to go but scaramucci should not be the replacement. Last night debacle shows why. He is not ready

Didn’t they? Germany had no hope of regaining the territory it lost after WWI via diplomatic means, and Japan had no hope of functioning under an oil embargo. Not defending their actions, but certainly explaining some root causes.

I think the conclusion in the report is inaccurate in this respect: Muslims in general refuse to assimilate with persons who have different religious beliefs and values. As the refugee crisis has spread throughout Europe and other parts of the world this fact has been established time and again. Apparently they don’t even have anything to do with muslims of different sects or nationalities. The major exception to this being where they receive support for jihadist pursuits.
