+Any jackboot licker will tell you that if the cops kill you, you for damn sure are not innocent. You did something, exactly what, they can’t say, but for damn sure, you are not innocent.

Police are civilians. "Search and destroy" is NOT part of their mission.

It appears that it is. A smallish but growing part.

embarrassing to this police department

I hope there is far more than the usual "paid leave" coming down on this POS cop department.

No love for BLM, but I am coming to agree at some part of how much cops are out of control and not answerable for their mistakes.

Police said they opened fire at the dog and saw Lopez holding a gun from behind his door.

Hmmm, smell like dogshit? Taste, taste like dogshit????

SWAG, no gun (unless dropped) will be found.

Idiot, of course a gun was dropped.

You mean to tell me, that if you or I busted into someone’s house for no reason at midnight and blew a man’s head off, that the police and courts would not accept our claim that it was an “embarrassing mistake?”

“I doubt that the cops will get prosecuted for this.....................”

the only number higher than these cops IQ’s are the caliber of their weapons.

I bet they all carried thirty eights.

The police chief may have carried a forty five.

Thanks so much for the explanation. It’s a little clearer. It was the last paragraph that really threw me. Thanks, again.

Why didn’t the cops just shoot the dog instead?

Just an attempt at dark humor.

There are always stories of police shooting dogs when they serve a warrant or enter a house suddenly. Maybe the man did not have a dog to shoot, so they shot him. Just a joke.
