I think the author here is speculating wildly. The whole charade between Trump and Sessions had an immediate false smell about it because it came from an interview that Trump gave to the NY Times — a media outlet that Trump has constantly ridiculed as “failing” and “fake news.”

Sundance at CTH is working not just from the NYT interview, but from a series of remarks consitent with that interview, over a period of a few days. I did notice that the response Trump gave today was alomst verbatim his remarks in that interview.

So, words straight from Trump over a period of a few days, coupled with Scaramucci's remarks on Hewitt, and the usual leaks in the press.

It gets tougher to credibly label it "fake" when it persists.

Who knows maybe it adds insult to Sessions injury. Trump saying to Sessions, I dislike so much how this SC thing and your recusal has gone down, I am gonna send you a message of disgust through a medium I also disgust. I could see me doing that, disgust on top of disgust.
