The subsequent fallout from the public criticism has united the NeverTrump crowd, Cruzbots and professionally GOPe, to defend the honor of the much beloved former Senator.

Very shallow 'analysis'. If this keeps up, many will discover that the dissatisfaction with Trump's tactics here will be deeper than that. Evangelicals and other groups of conservatives don't like this sort of public humiliation and trashing of a well respected conservative of longstanding.

You are wrong. The great majority wants a fight. Not cowardly words with no action. How many times do you have to lose before you finally get it.

The crowd was huge and enthused tonight. Nobody is going to abandon Trump.

Get over it.

People used to say that when I was exposing Ted Cruz as a sneaky little liar on this forum. The end result was that the majority of posters eventually agreed with me. On the macro-scale of the entire public, people came to the same conclusion independently despite NeverTrumpers freaking the hell out about bashing Saint Cruz.

Conservatives aren't lemmings.

I’m an Alabama native and Sessions was my Senator. I was a huge supporter when he was Senator and was elated when he was appointed AG.

That’s why it pains me to see how timid and incompetent Sessions has been as AG. He doesn’t even seem like the same man.

I’m deeply disappointed in the trivial issues that Sessions has decided to focus on: Civil forfeiture and the punishment of everyday pot smokers and medical marijuana users.

Sessions has always been strong on immigration so why isn’t he aggressively going after Sanctuary Cities? He needs to be putting the hammer on those treasonous cities.

The prosecution of Hillary, Obama, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder and Lois Lerner should be on the table. Violent hate groups such as Antifa should be punished for their crimes.

But Sessions chooses to be a “gentleman” and go easy on the traitors who are destroying this country. We need a ruthless attack dog who will give the enemy no quarter, not a polite gentleman.

I now wish Sessions would have remained as a Senator because he was more effective in that role.

I don’t blame Trump for being furious about Sessions recusing himself. That was a mistake and a White Flag to the Democrats.

I tend to agree. I'm very glad that Hillary isn't our President. But that doesn't mean that I have to fall at the feet of Trump and worship him. In manner he is, simply put, a jackass. Perhaps we need some of that in these corrupt times. But it doesn't make that a type of character to be highly desired or that we would like to see emulated by family and friends. Maybe that's how they do it on the streets of New York, but it will eventually grow old in many parts of the Heartland.

For those who worship him, let me say this: First these out of control hissy-fits are directed by Trump and his worshipers at Sessions and soon after at Breitbart News. Then it will be at me, and soon it will be at you. It's not easy to be an insider with someone who views everyone as the enemy.

I'm thankful for Trump's Supreme Court appointment and for some other actions. I hope that he will continue to champion our causes and not just his ego. Bravado and swagger may win the day, but character is more important for the long term. The President has feet of clay and doesn't realize it or is unwilling to admit it. I hope that President Trump acquires more character, that he succeeds as a leader, and will one day be remembered as a conservative icon. The fact that I don't fall at his feet and praise even his shortcomings doesn't mean that I don't wish him well.

Trump didn't "humiliate" Session. You're using a word created by a Fake News headline writer.

Trump simply criticized the recusal as not being the right thing to do.

If it does they don't belong on this forum anyway.

When History is written 50 years from now The name Sessions will be very prominent in the story of the destruction of a popularly elected President. Whether by ignorance or design his recusal gave us Mueller, couldn't of happened any other way.

How is Trump wrong? He can’t express his thoughts? This kind of brutal honestly is what we voted for. Sessions should have told Trump that if abc occurs then I’ll have to remove myself, it would have given Trump an option, which is all he seems to be complaining about. The other part is what all of us feel, if they are going to go at Trump so hard over Russia then why aren’t there 10 other investigations going on into every Obama era official.
