Trump: ‘Obamacare is Death’

Trump painted Tuesday's vote as a chance at redemption for Democrats and moment of truth for Republicans who have long promised to get rid of Obamacare.

"Any senator who votes against starting debate is telling America that you are fine with the Obamacare nightmare," the president said.

The margin for success remains close for the GOP — a struggle that Senate Republicans have contended with for the past several weeks, and one that Trump indicated he well aware of.

"Democrats aren't giving us one vote," the president said, "so we need virtually every single vote from Republicans," which, he added, is "not easy to do."

The Republicans control the Senate with 52 votes, so they can only afford to lose two votes on any legislation to overhaul health care. Several GOP senators have already expressed opposition or are on the fence.

Trump has long advocated for repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act. But earlier Monday, the president pressed Republicans take a first step to "just REPEAL failing ObamaCare now & work on a new Healthcare Plan that will start from a clean slate."

Therein lies the problem. The federal government has absolutely no authority to overhaul healthcare. It has no authority over healthcare. The People did not give that authority to the federal government. They reserved it to the Several States. That is why it is not specified or enumerated in the Constitution.

The only legitimate action Congress can take with Obamacare is to repeal it as unconstitutional. Instead of trying to retain its unconstitutional overreach by "repeal and replace", all the Republican Congress has to do is craft a bill to repeal this abomination.

They have the votes to repeal. They can pass the corrective legislation. And The People and the Several States will support it.

The gutless, spineless, neutered GOP senate is gonna fold like a cheap poker player.

President Trump would have an easier time convincing Democrats to join his side.......................

Trump failed to recommend to the people that they should vote against any incumbent who does not work to eliminate 0-care.

The Republican senators, who don’t want to do anything, are vary pleased that the harpies Murkowski and Collins plan to vote against the bill. With McCain out to have his head examined that lets them all pass the blame for their own cowardice.

Just like you can’t be a little bit pregnant, a nation cannot be a little bit Socialist.

You either support a free Republic or a Marxist death nation

Shops around my town are in trouble. People don’t spend as much because of a lack of disposable income after paying for their Obamacare premiums.

“Any senator who votes against starting debate is telling America that you are fine with the Obamacare nightmare,” the president said.

The marker is laid down.

This President will remember who stood with him. He will also remember who stood against him.
