States still have the right to not hand over information, but this law suit was an attempt to cut the President off at the knees by saying he shouldn’t be allowed to view such information even if states agreed to share it.

Because, Constitutionally, the states run their own elections, so requiring them to have voter I.D. laws is, legally, a bit tricky.

This was a no brainier.

That expression doesn't apply to leftists.... because, well.... they don't have "normal" brains.

Nothing is more important than determining if those who vote are eligible, which means are they citizens of the USA. This is about the validity of our democracy. Not whether the Dems should have the right to grab more outside voters.

The Republican Congress could pass a law setting the rules for all federal elected officials. The states can run their local and state elections however they want, but states that allow non-citizens and non id votes will not have their congressmen and senators recognized.

I don’t think so, because no one really votes for a federal elected official in November, since all elections are on the state level, which makes them state elected, even if they’re part of the federal government ... and even the votes for president are technically not votes for president but votes for your states slate of electors.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think Congress can do anything about that without amending the Constitution.
