At least since 2013, one of the biggest concerns in the climate change debate has been the so-called carbon budget a fixed limit to the volume of carbon dioxide emissions that we can put into the atmosphere before irrevocably committing to a considerably hotter planet.
As of 2011, that budget was about 1,000 billion tons of carbon dioxide before the planet is likely to careen past a 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) rise in temperatures, which is above what is believed to be the Earths temperature before industrialization.
But now, a team of prominent climate scientists say the budget is probably even narrower. The problem is how you define preindustrial, or when you consider human-caused perturbations of the atmosphere to have begun. Many analyses have taken the late 19th century as the starting point, but the new study in Nature Climate Change suggests significant human influence was afoot by at least 1750.
Frankly, this study does indicate that it may be more of an uphill battle than we previously thought in order to stabilize warming below the commonly defined dangerous limit of 2 degrees Celsius, said ,b>Pennsylvania State Universitys Michael Mann, one of the studys authors. He completed the research with scientists from the universities of Edinburgh and Reading in the United Kingdom.
It is also important to bear in mind that the 2 degree Celsius target is a normative goal, a value judgment, said Reto Nutty, a climate expert with ETH Zurich who was familiar with the new study but did not contribute to it.
It is just as much a political problem: If countries at some point are made responsible not just for their current but also for their past emissions (the polluter pays), then it matters when we start the historic blame game.

Lawdy!
If it wasn’t for global warming, Chicago would still be under a mile of ice.
Fake News
TRANSLATION: “The shelf-life of the global warming scam is approaching its expiration date.”

I know! Just six months ago my driveway was COVERED in snow! and now there is temperatures in the 80’s
This needs to be fixed by Friday or else we’re all gonna die!
You’re right, Chris. You have exactly thirty minutes to stop Global Warming.
If you haven’t got it done by then just drop it. Any further effort would be ridiculous.
“And we have to imprison all Republicans to do so.”
How much time do we have to stop this media diarrhea of FakeNews?
Well then, what are their plans for getting rid of CO2?
A university in Australia found a way to use sunlight to power a machine that reduces CO2 into carbon and oxygen.
There is also soil sequestration.
What are Bezos, Musk, Gates and others spending their money on? Propaganda, going to Mars/building tunnels and population reduction.
We actually only have until next Tuesday.
I've got about a dozen of those out in my yard. They're called "Trees". 'Spose I can qualify for a government grant?
Less CO2 = less plants
Less plants = less O2
Less O2 = less animal life
Typical hysterics of the left.

Dan Gainor, vice president of Business and Culture at the Media Research Center, joined Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Monday to discuss press reaction to Anthony Scaramucci, the New York Times continued blaming of sexism for Hillary Clintons election loss, and other current media topics.
Gainor said, Its hard to take the New York Times seriously. The only more shrill and ridiculous print outlet in the country anymore is the Washington Post.
Gainor continued, Every week, you will look and see something crazy. Last week in the New York Times was one of their latest op-ed arguments against free speech, arguing that, scientifically, you should be able to say certain speech is not allowed on college campuses.
In speaking of the Times future, Gainor stated, I think that they feel that this is survival, especially when youve got Carlos Slim, Mexican billionaire, throwing his money at the New York Times, continuing to keep it afloat. Theres always been a rich person component to a lot of the media in this country.
All throughout our history, its a vanity press, said Gainor. So the New York Times will continue to survive at least as that, whether its Bezos or Buffett or somebody buys it, if this doesnt work in this version.

In order for more rapid growth in greenhouses they often ramp up the ppm of CO2 to 1000-1200.
The current level of CO2 in the atmosphere is 400 ppm. I’d say we have a ways to go before CO2 is a problem.
Seeing as how it’s nearly 3 pm and the temp here in Metro Detroit in the middle of summer still has not reached 70 degrees, this is good news.
