There isn't anything covert about a CIA operative whose identity is known to the New York Times.

The failure here is entirely on the part of the CIA for operating in such a way as to allow their most important secrets to leak to the press.

I would much prefer to read about such CIA failures in the newspaper than to continue the charade that our intelligence agencies are doing their jobs responsibly.

Depends on who leaked the identity. If it’s Brennan then there is no such thing as a truly covert operator because he could have exposed everyone hired before he left.
