Well, I looked into the fire thing and apparently mine were safe but still can’t get any more out of them. Got out of the Navy in 1970. Lucky I kept my DD-214 in any case.

Contact US Rep with a copy and a letter of request, also request any medals or ribbons, those take slightly longer, especially if any are high enough to warrant engraving. Dad’s Bronze Star was the only 1 engraved.
