While content of popular entertainment is frequently deplorable, this measure seems to be defacto political censorship in disguise.

The article seems to suggest that Chinese regime hates content pushed by American communist propaganda, especially by Hollywood. On the other hand, some of the biggest investors in Hollywood are Chinese. They do influence movies they are financing to be pro-China, though.

Closing the barn door after the horse ran off. Young Chinese have already seen too much of the outside world.

I know KDramas were extremely popular in China, and I heard they were stopping the showing of them there.

What’s interesting is GT is a ChiCom mouthpiece.
This article is announcing their draconian censorship.
When stuff like this happens it usually means power struggles behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, Western Millennials are
more and more choosing video games over jobs, and sit around being furries, watching anime and talking about their fifty genders online.
Tell me how China doesn't surge right past the West.

While liberal elites worry about crap like 'climate change', China is slowly colonizing Africa by buying many local mining and manufacturing businesses. They will exploit strategic and precious minerals (titanium, platinum, diamonds, gold, etc.) without the environmentalist angst that pervades the West.
By the time they're ready for WWIII, they won't have to fire a shot. The Western nations will sell out to the Chicoms, in exchange for help in paying down their ballooning national debts.

those which depict homosexuality, extramarital affairs or scenes of obvious "seductive behaviors." American TV thru the 1960's
I want it back.

Just like the Soviets wanted to push decadence on the West, although they clamped down on it at home.

American TV thru the 1960's I want it back.Well, sometimes the 60's tv shows were a little ridiculous.
For example: I dream of Genie
JR Ewing would come home from work, Genie has been sitting around bored all day. Genie would say, "What can I do for you, master," and JR Ewing would say, "Oh, nothing Genie".

I liked perky Barbara Eden. That was my point. If you come home from work and Genie says, "I'll do anything for you." and your response is, "It's ok, I don't need anything." you would be something other than a heterosexual.

JR Ewing would come home from work, Genie has been sitting around bored all day. You're mixing shows there, friend. JR Ewing was the lead character on Dallas (same actor, though).

American Millennials are demanding this kind of censorship to filter out “hate”, which honest Communists simply call “counter-revolutionary ideas”.

I hope you realize that that was the moral lesson of the show: that Red-Blooded Americans would rather work than have riches handed to them. Basic Protestant Work Ethic stuff with Puritan Sexual Ethics mixed in.
Hollywood used to be on our side.
