Virtually every Mexican is a criminal in one way or another so this ‘’religion’’ is off to a great start.
Another case of ignorant morons following a cult that is 100% anti human nature. (The other is *slam).
Things to be concerned with here.
1) If the Santa Muerte turns full cult and gets a charismatic leader, heavily funded by the drug cartels.
2) With estimates as high as 1m possible followers, they could make the Thuggee death cult in India look mild.
3) The Aztecs had two major warrior clans, the Jaguars and the Eagles. These could be revived as factions in the cult, whose purpose is both to expand the domain of the cult and to kidnap victims for sacrifice.
4) Like the Thugs, the idea is to ambush, murder and rob in that order. Indiscriminate as to victims, men, women and children. It is actually a most effective means of terrorism, as a small band of murderous robbers could take out large unarmed groups quickly, yet could vanish because they were indistinct from everyone else.
5) There are already signs of the cult spreading north into the US. Even some grocery stores are selling Santa Muerte accessories like votive candles. (If a store in your area sells votive candles, you might want to glance at their inventory for skeletons.)
