Can someone please explain to me why "proposed" regulations being removed is such a great big win.

I would think a great big win would be 800 ACTIVE regulations, regulations that are ON THE BOOKS.

Do not get me wrong I think it is great to stop them before they are enacted but there are comments here that lead me to believe that either I am missing the point or most FReepers have forgotten how to read.

Oddly, I have a 1998 Honda ATV for the farm that hasn’t failed in the 20 years of not just riding, but doing heavy farm work, all the while burning 10% ethanol. Far as I can tell, engines last at least twice what they once did, and all burning gas with added ethanol. My friend has a Chevy truck that has burned the same for 400,000 miles. Based on engine longevity ethanol seems to extend the life of said.

Alcohol dissolved the neoprene diaphragm in the carburetor making it inoperative. The fuel lines deteriorated to where I had to replace them also. The very first time I used 4% alcohol in my GMC the fuel pump went out, Diaphragm. It costs $100 a year to repair the carb, filters and fuel lines. Good that it works for you but it is junk for me.
