When an anti Trump Composter, Obama loving suckass starts his column with A lie such as “A humiliating defeat for Trump”, instead of a defeat for the repucks, I don’t bother reading the rest of the crap.

Even if Trump presented his own plan to Congress, it would have gotten rewritten into oblivion.

But if he does have a plan that will cover everyone with more choices, better coverage, lower deductibles, and greatly reduced premiums then why not throw it into the mix? How can Capito and Collins object to something that offers all that? The POS that the Senate has come up with certainly isn't going anywhere so why not bang some heads, lay out his plan, and tell them to start working with that as a beginning?

Because it would have gotten nowhere in Congress. Because the media and Dems would have called his plan, assuming if it passed Congress, Trumpcare and Trump would have been responsible for the failures of Obamacare. That is why Trump stepped back and put the onus on Republicans to repeal Obamacare, or pass something that works.

And his strategy is working brilliantly. Now it's up to McConnell and Ryan to get something done with the conservative base watching them like hawks. Either way Trump wins.

What they have now is going nowhere in Congress.

Because the media and Dems would have called his plan, assuming if it passed Congress, Trumpcare and Trump would have been responsible for the failures of Obamacare.

Newsflash: the media and Democrats are going to call whatever passes "Trumpcare" so if they're going to do that then might as well tailor it around Trump's own plan. And if Obamacare collapses the GOP will still get the blame.

And his strategy is working brilliantly.

This is working? The House has one plan that won't pass the Senate. The Senate has two plans that won't pass the Senate and wouldn't pass the House. Trump can have the Senate over for meals all he wants and the current plans will not pass. Time for a fresh plan, and if Trump has one then it's time for him to lay it out.

But Trump's proposal would have gotten nowhere or would have been watered down. And then he would have gotten the blame. Better to let Congressional Republicans introduce their own plan (as they said they would for 7 years) and if it fails, so be it. I'd rather have Obamacare in its current form than any type of replacement plan offered by Republicans, which basically is an amendment to Obamacare.

No, that's where you're wrong. There's a reason why Trump allowed Congress to do all the work because many of these Republicans oppose his overall agenda. That's why Trump sat back and urged Congress to come up with their plan. If Trump would have proposed a specific plan, he would have gotten screwed.

No Republican voted for Obamacare. They are not obligated to fix it, make it work better, etc. All they have to do is repeal it and then later on deregulate the industry. But they didn't do that because they figured Trump was going to propose his plan or sign some crappy plan and then he'll get the blame for Obamacare's failures.

Again, you don't understand the dynamic that Trump is up against. He is fighting a 3-front war: Against RINOs, against the Dems, and against the statists in the bureaucracies. He is using Obamacare to both kick the Republicans in the rear and to destroy the Democrats.

It is brilliant political strategy as I said before, because all Republicans have to do is do a repeal vote. If it doesn't pass, so be it. Obamacare is the Dems' baby. It is already collapsing and no amount of media spin or historical revision that Republicans are somehow the culprit is going to change that.

And I'd like to see all the concern trolls donate something to FR or get banned for fraud. Being conservative means being willing to pay your own way - concern troll leech...
