I live in Arkansas and missed this one. I can’t imagine what idiot in the Legislature came up with this and why. There are so many times that trying to consult all family on anything is hard. It also seems to infringe on the rights of spouses and others in making these kind of decisions.
Or “permission from men”.
True, true, true. And in the end, the one person in the situation with the least power, will always suffer the bloody consequences. Because who defends “the least of these”?
Sometimes I just feel sick of mankind. Man-un-kind.
I have a friend who says, “In the meantime... it’s a mean time.”
X ACT LEE
Will they give a DNA test to make sure the male signee is the actual father? I foresee a business opportunity here.
Or would testing be seen as making it more difficult for men to get sex, similar to the effects on voting from requiring voter ID?
We're talking about killing a baby, here. It's an intrinsically evil act. It doesn't become OK if you get the whole family to agree. I's NEVER OK.
the fathers rights should not be ignored.

Another cottage industry is born. He’ll sign off on her abortion for $50, $100, $250...

As far as “the father’s rights” go, in my opinion he has just released his rights from any obligation on the mother when he released himself, with money she accepted, from any responsibility.
If the mother does not accept that money, and says no, “we” are going ahead with the pregnancy”, then she is not accepting release of the father’s obligations, but is also not released of the father’s rights. If she wants to release him for payment, then the release should be both ways - the father’s responsibilities and his rights.
